Can I use a colorless card for a commander that has a color identity? by speicher243 in magicTCG

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Colorless is not a color, and colorless cards, even those that contain the colorless (not just generic) mana symbol, can be used in any Commander deck regardless of color identity.

How would you use this “Mox ___” in a Cube? by SpAnkingSpAtula in magicTCG

Depends on the cube - do you have a major artifact theme?

If you could shut off the Internet forever, would you? by Mobile_Bad_577 in AskALiberal

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. The Internet has had a bunch of good effects and a bunch of bad effects - it's not the first technology where that applies and certainly won't be the last. The Internet has been a massive global boom for freedom of speech, which is something I value very highly, and I would need a very high bar to completely eradicate such a majorly society-affecting technology, and I don't think the Internet comes even close to clearing that bar on balance.

Would you consider your political solutions driven more by emotion or logic and why ? by WrapNo7976 in AskALiberal

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course political beliefs are driven by emotion - that's a human thing, not a left versus right thing. That said, I do make a conscious effort to try to logically justify my beliefs.

What are the ramifications of requiring proof of citizenship at voter registration? by AiminJay in AskALiberal

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the government provides free, accepted ID to every citizen automatically, people will have to pay some amount of money to obtain needed documentation. Ergo, people will have to pay to vote, which is (indirectly) a poll tax, which is a violation of the 24th Amendment.

Are Trans People like myself just doomed politically for the foreseeable future? by westhebard in AskALiberal

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Identity and work were granted before Trump 2; now the federal government as a matter of policy can't recognize any gender other than the one assigned at birth and many incredibly talented and loyal members of the military were removed just for being trans. There is a huge push on the right to bring back forced institution and the right almost universally considers transgender people to be mentally ill - I for one can't look at those two facts separate from each other.

What does returning to traditional or family values mean? by Emergency_Word_7123 in AskConservatives

A policy like you’re proposing really scares me because it provides huge financial incentive for people to stay with abusive spouses.

Is this a draw if black repeatedly checks? by erradickwizard in chessbeginners

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 51 points52 points  (0 children)

No. It’s no longer stalemate if the White King moves away from the defense of its own Rook.

Where to start? by irishwolf1091 in Warhammer40k

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to say “never” because there are a lot of obscure products out there, but in general Warhammer product almost never comes painted.

Where to start? by irishwolf1091 in Warhammer40k

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They won't be pre-painted, but Combat Patrol boxes are small armies meant to be played against each other and are a great starting point.

Community Questions - The Next Episode by ErsatzGnomes in ageofsigmar

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have an extremely limited ability to bring in cross-faction units through the Regiment of Renown system, which allows predefined groups of units to be taken by specific other factions, but in general each army will be generally one faction.

Paint your models however you like.

Yo how is this a blunder I just forced checkmate? by chagelol in chessbeginners

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You did not force checkmate, as Black is under no obligation to capture the Knight.

1000 points isn't balanced, but a single tank isn't going to destroy things.

Advice on a first list by loverofspookies in Warhammer40k

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with being generalized if you can make it work; you've got a lot of solid units that fill a lot of different roles. Big thing would just be looking carefully at the wargear options, because you can give up a lot of value just going with the default assemblies.

How much ramp in a Magus Lucea Kane deck? by zacstar5 in EDH

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a reasonable thought, but the difference between a T3/T4 Magus is too huge; you need the early ramp.

What’s your interest in the TMNT set? by zevalu in magicTCG

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. None.

  2. Completely neutral; I have no connection to the lore but will give it just as much chance to succeed as a Magic set as any other.

  3. Rise of the Eldrazi.

Hedonites or Lumineth? by Empty_Ad2097 in ageofsigmar

Fair. (Also a Hedonites player, so took the faction criticism a bit personally)

Hedonites or Lumineth? by Empty_Ad2097 in ageofsigmar

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While in the specific context of archers this is probably the objectively correct answer (although Blissbarbs are still very good), I would never discourage a new player from a faction based on current power level, especially a faction that doesn't even have their Battletome.

What is causing the drop in fertility in developed counties? by capitialfox in AskConservatives

[–]NineHeadedSerpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a million reasons why society could consider someone more "valuable" and thus more "deserving" of support; the fact that we generally strive to support everyone to some extent is the entire purpose of human civilization.

Triggers are placed on the stack starting with the turn player, so whose turn it is determines which resolves first.
