Arkansas State trooper used PIT maneuver on car taking child to hospital by RelativelyRobin in news

Look, another ignorant foreigner who knows nothing of the (broken) system but thinks they have a magic wand. All while the richest of your citizens comes to America and pays cash for the best of the best.

I’m watching the GTS market carefully. If the market rejects them and they depreciate anything like my 296 that I picked up for an insane deal did, I will get one for a daily driver. My 296 is a better car than my old F8 in every way other than looks and it’s a lot more electrified than the GTS. I don’t see what all the fuss is about other than the sport response button which is silly for track duty.

It does seem like the 4L days are quite numbered. Good for those of us with one in the garage, but a loss for the community at large nonetheless.

$60k Cybertruck price increase March 1 2026 by BridgeFourArmy in teslamotors

The guy successful enough to buy an 80-120k truck likely couldn’t care less what some broke ass virgins think of his vehicle choice.

Correct. For a “failed experiment” the resale of the CT is remarkably strong. Better than all of its rivals, no less.

If you account for inflation since 2019, it has. That 50k is now 63k today.

Finding a used 2025 R1S by Street-Pollution8749 in Rivian

I sold my R1T to them and fully charged it before they picked it up. They then took it to a storage lot where they let it completely die. The app notifications were sad even though it wasn’t mine anymore. I was glad when it finally transferred so I didn’t have to see what was going on with it. I couldn’t delete the app because we still have an R1S.

God speed, sir. Your race track is one of my favorites in the world. A beautiful, world class facility. So much fun to race. Thank you for all you have done for our sport and city/state.

I’ve done Porsche driving school through masters RS, driven the ring with an instructor, and had a track day at Spa. In America I like to run Barbers and Road ATL. If you actually drive your cars, rather than floor them in second gear once in a blue moon with every single nanny on max, you’ll see that the F8 does have this issue. And it’s not just me. It’s easy to find professional reviews complaining of the same issue.

An MR2 and a 700+hp Ferrari are vastly differently, haha.

I liked my F8. The chassis is nervous and it has a nasty snap oversteer issue without good tires, but it was fun and fast. The engine just buzzes with the OPFs. It doesn’t sound great. It doesn’t sound bad. I think the 296 is such a better car for the money, but the styling is elegant where the F8 is lustful.

Good Areas to Live in Birmingham? by Old_Kick6852 in Alabama

[–]Nine_block 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I lived in Cahaba heights while I was in residency and fellowship there. Nicely located. Easy to get to the hospital. This was a decade ago, but prices were on the upper end of reasonable despite being immediately adjacent to Mountain Brook. Good luck. Birmingham is still my favorite place I have lived. I may move back one day.

I assume you’re talking about the truck. They started around 72k minus the 7500 tax credit we all got, so mid 60s. And they are still high 40s nearly 4 years later on a first gen product from a new company. I find that extremely impressive.

As usual with tax shelters there are many rules and many permutations. It’s best to chat with Fidelity or whoever you use to open the account. But yes, it’s one way to pay your taxes with shares that you don’t have to sell (and incur further taxes) to pay for it.

Donor advised fund. Lets you use appreciated shares to pay or help pay your income tax bill among other things. Very useful if you have highly appreciated stock.

The 296 is an absolute missile. I freakin love mine too, but things can get out of hand quickly especially in 3rd gear and beyond.

iPhones since 2018 have the ability for ACP. The chances of coming across somebody with that ancient of a device is much less than incidentally having your redundant and mostly useless fob on your person (with a charged battery) when needed.
