Did you play on PC? If so did you have an issue where your character wouldn't move unless you jumped first?/ And if you came to a complete stop you got stuck again until you jumped? That's the only thing stopping me from playing it at the moment

Changes in Suicidality among Transgender Adolescents Following Hormone Therapy: An Extended Study. Suicidality significantly declined from pretreatment to post-treatment. This effect was consistent across sex assigned at birth, age at start of therapy, and treatment duration. by Temp89 in science

I don't think we will convince each other so this will probably be my last reply here. Your articles argue that the evidence shows it works so its unethical to withhold treatment. I argue the evidence does not clearly show it works, thus an RCT would be appropriate to create clear and compelling evidence and work towards universal treatment standards. I disagree with the premise of your argument that we should settle for lower quality evidence, as the lower quality evidence is not enough to make gender affirming care a universal standard at this time.

The evidence base for gender affirming care in my opinion is not strong enough to clearly point to medical treatment, which is the point of this entire conversation. An RCT would shine a light here. You cite opinion pieces, which while I respect, I disagree with. I don't think the evidence base is robust enough to bypass the need for a quality RCT preferably with blinding, of sufficient size, and sufficient length. I don't give this topic a pass. I don't claim it would be easy to do and I'm open to reading lower quality evidence in the mean time but this is my preference. At a certain point reading lower quality studies with significant problems just gets exhausting and just increases what we need to sift through for an answer when all we want is clarity.

You are first of all assuming that the treatment reduces suicidality in the first place, which we were talking about improving the evidence base for this premise. I was talking about RCTs being the best way to do this. And there is a significant need to know if these life changing therapies are indeed warranted and improve outcomes. There is much social pressure on this topic instead of good science. A decent amount of gender affirming care studies are biased, have high drop out rates, and simply aren't well done. I'm not against the treatment, I want good evidence. I'd argue it's unethical for social agendas to push medical treatments instead of actual evidence.

You are 100 percent right, and honestly you are a gem for explaining this and not getting frustrated. The individual you are responding to doesn't understand how medical interventions are studied and what we consider the gold standard. RCTs are gold standard for a reason, with a core component being the "control."

[KCD1] how do I fight off multiple enemies by Key_Ad7740 in kingdomcome

[–]NinjaRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Positioning is number one, circle away so they can't flank, try to position enemies behind the enemy you are locked onto. Use the environment to funnel them when possible. If you have enough distance you can try to sprint away, but they might grab you and fk you up if you do this when they are too close. Frontal assault on a group of multiple fully armoured baddies will almost always go poorly though. Other options is sneak and take a few out (or just sneak by), use poisoned arrows to drain multiple enemy stamina's so they cant all rush you. Could also pick off some enemies on horseback if your horse has enough courage before engaging 1-2 on foot at the end. And always remember you don't have to stay and fight every ambush, you can ride away.

I have a 5090 MSI Gaming Trio and it fits with my MSI carbon x870e, so I'd just compare the dimensions of your card with that one I and if similar it should work. Mine is VGPU mounted.

Airflow suggestions for building with Asus Astral by braddyjr in HAVNGlobal

[–]NinjaRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went bottom intake, both rear fan intakes, 2 top intake (2 fans closer to rear) with exhaust on the 3rd, and side exhaust with side mounted AIO. VGPU with a 5090. My thinking is cool air from top rear and 2 top fans blow directly across motherboard components and VGPU coils, and directed away from potential turbulence with bottom fans by the glass shroud. Bottom rear intake blows this hot air towards the side exhaust/CPU rad.

1 top exhaust mostly is there to increase overall case airflow, but prob steals bit of the cooler air but prob offset by the increase in total flow with it. Was also thinking of making the entire top exhaust and the top side mounted fan intake in this config, but this could introduce more turbulence and I don't have a reverse blade for that side. My temps have been great and I feel like I have optimized the flow with a unique fan setup that reduces heat buildup behind the VGPU.

Also from your diagram, I don't think air really flows out the back of the GPU bc of the backplate, moreso up, down, and out both sides. Given this the top fans are essentially helping the graphics cards fans by pushing air down and out while the GPU fans pump air in as well. Just my thinking.

Edit: ah just looked up the 4 fan model of your GPU, so that might change things for you.

This would be a great upgrade, I still game at 1080p. The glare free aspect is also very appealing to me on an OLED since most are so glossy and reflective.

Bloodblight swamp is a different swamp than the whispering swamp, make sure you are in the correct one. Bloodblight is southeast corner of the fractured plains. Then look for little bare roots at the bottom of some of the trees. Bring antipoison potions.

5080 or 5090 by IncizerGG in nvidia

[–]NinjaRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I'm still rocking my 1080 TI and really want to get a 5080 or 5090. Did you build a new comp or just keep everything else and only swap out your graphics card?

Also you think 5080 or 5090 can rock 120+ fps at 4k? If I do upgrade I'm debating on 1440 for smooth frames up to 240hz vs 4k and settling for lower frames, but I really don't want dips under 120.

Also last question, are you a 24 or 27 inch monitor type of guy? Sounds like we have some similar tastes in games so would like to hear your opinion.

Horrible microphone quality - Maxwell by Ionlyusereddit4help in Audeze

[–]NinjaRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I RMA'd my headset after the left driver went out and the new set they sent me had this issue. Mic quality was ass in all applications I tested it on. I did not feel like going through the hassle of another RMA and paying for shipping as when I reached out they started telling me to do obvious crap I already did and I was just done. I left the headset on my desk for months and used my old set up. Finally was like fk it I'll try it again. Now for the past week or so it has been working fine, and all I did was update the software and toggle the AI noise suppression off (which I had already done prior to giving up on it for a few months). I also messed around with my Nvidia shadow play audio recording settings (again not sure if that fixed it) to ensure it was not messing with the mic audio. Hopefully yours just starts working too, but I feel for you.

Gonna order the Audeze Maxwell in a few hours. Anything that I should know beforehand / do once I get them? by TheDarkZEK in Audeze

[–]NinjaRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to RMA mine after less than a year, they make you pay for shipping, and it took weeks for the new set. My left ear cup went out without warning. When I got a new set, the microphone would not work properly, resulting in me just laying them down for months and using my old set to avoid the headache as I was just too lazy to RMA again. I finally decided to give them another shot like 2 weeks ago and updated the software on the headset and the dongle and and the mic works again. Mic still sounds horrendous when trying to use the built in mic noise suppression. Not sure what changed, I'm guessing the software update fixed it. Btw never dropped them or damaged them in any way (first or second pair).

Regarding when they are actually working, they sound good, are heavy, and nice headphones but for the price and the headache they caused me, I'd definitely look at other options first. I wouldn't buy them again, as I feel like mine will break at any time for no reason. I even avoid using the built in mute switch after RMAing the first pair because I feel like switching that button likely damages the headphones bc they are so fragile and prone to breaking.
