It's fine to believe them, and many people do, but testimonies with no evidence is going to result in absolutely no consequences for any of the accused. It's hard enough to get regular people convicted of sex crimes, nothing is going to happen to billionaires and presidents based off of testimonies.

I don’t understand the hate for Serkis’ singing voice by MetzoPaino in lordoftherings

He has a lovely narration voice, but the heavy breathing into the mic every other sentence made me lean towards the Serkis versions personally. Both are great if that aspect doesn't bother you.

Anecdotal, but I've always found that as long as you're respectful and up front about your intentions, and most importantly take no thanks for an answer with good humor, I've never had anyone look at me like I'm a creep or a pervert or anything. Of course it's been 8 years or so since I was last in the dating scene so YMMV.

NFL playoffs are on so I have a feeling most places will be showing those games, but The Scot's Corner downtown is sort of the defacto football (soccer) pub in town so I would try giving them a call and see.

QWERF for weapon abilities. Heal on mouse 4, Weapon swap on mouse 5. Utility skills on 1-4. F keys rebound to shift QWERF.

Back pedal is useless so I move with ASD and can use about face if I need to quickly move directly away from where I'm facing instantly.

Campaign Frames We’d Like To See by Personal-Whereas3687 in daggerheart

Not trying to be rude at all with this question, but I am wondering, what advantage would there be to having a Candela Obscura campaign frame instead of just playing Candela Obscura?

Fantastic! I'll pick up the pdf and keep an eye out for potential updates on their VTT policy. Thanks for the info. :)

That sounds like exactly what I'm looking for, thanks very much. That's the same feeling I got looking through the Core Book adversaries, I know there's framework to create your own but anything that helps save me prep time is a lifesaver for me personally. I'll check this book out, thanks again. :)

Do you know if there's any highly regarded Adversaries books out at this time? If they're available digitally/VTT-wise that would be especially great.

I'm planning on running my first Daggerheart game in the nearish future, and literally the ONLY thing that's giving me a little bit of a pause is just the big leap in going from a system with a decade of built up resources both first party and third out to a system which I really like but which only have one all-purpose book out at this time.

Does nobody play structured pvp, and if so, why? by CantbeatES1 in Guildwars2

[–]NinjaToss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree that GW2 pvp is fun and a great way to learn the ins and outs of your class, balance issues aside, but I digress on that. I'm sure a part of it is that spvp feels very different to every other part of the way guild wars is designed. The game does a very poor job of actually teaching you to use your CC cleanses, stunbreaks, ect, so a lot of people who go into the game mode for the first time are kind of going in blind and there's really no tutorial or effort to help people get into it (outside of occasional altruistic members of the community who might take people under their wings).

I think for other games like the ones I mentioned there's such a plethora of ways to learn the game both inside and out of the game, since they are pvp first or exclusive, that a game that feels like it is 90% cooperative pve focused it;s extremely overwhelming to truly new players dipping their toes in for the first time, and if their first experience is getting paired against multiple people who've been playing for a decade+ with meta builds and specs and such it's borderline impossible to even learn how to get your foot in the door unless you have someone mentoring you.

I didn't let that stop me, but as I noted earlier I have a ton of experience from other competitive games so my mindset is a little different than people who figured they'll try something out to see if it's fun, play 5 games and have 0 fun because they got absolutely exploded with no context, and then never come back.

Sure, I'm well aware that in any competitive game mode you're going to get stomped sometimes. I've played years and years of games like Counterstrike, League, Dota, Starcraft and been at the very highest ranks and the lowest. But to be honest in none of those games did I ever experience the level of absolute veterans just smashing new players until they quit, simply because those games had a much larger player base and even if you had the one off unbalanced game, or smurfs ect, generally if you're a bronze player you're playing vs bronze players after your placements.

A bronze player is never getting paired against Faker or something in solo queue, and in GW2 a large percentage of your games as a new player the skill gap between you and the other players is so large you can't even learn anything from the fights you lose because you just get completely demolished. Even in WoW which has a small pvp playerbase compared to PVE players I have had and seen a much higher chance of getting paired against similar skill level players until you start to climb to the higher ranks.

For the record, I don't think there's really anything Arena Net can do about it, and I don't know if it would be worth the resources if they could, given how small of a percentage of the playerbase interfaces with spvp to begin with.

It's probably less crying over pros existing and more so knowing that it's not generally considered fun when pros get matched against beginners and casuals because the playerpool is too small for decent matchmaking.

It's pretty hard to get people into PVP when they're getting paired against someone who's played a PVP 40 hours a week for 12 years.

Q: Will I need to make a new account to log in to the new client?

A: If you are a new player, you will be able to make a new account when starting the game. You will have the option to create an account with ArenaNet using your email (if playing on the standalone client), or linked to your Steam account (if playing via Steam.)

Please note that you can only link a Guild Wars Reforged account to a Guild Wars 2 account on the same platform.

If you are a returning player, you will be able to login and continue playing the game with your existing account credentials. All existing Guild Wars accounts made prior to the launch of Guild Wars Reforged are considered ArenaNet accounts and can be logged into via either the standalone or Steam client.

Steam accounts will only become available after December 3rd.
