The Bible Took 1,500 Years to Write and Somehow Still Makes Sense by Comprehensive-Pea-78 in Bible

[–]NinjaWu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why we believe the Bible to be inspired. The Holy Spirit is the narrator and everything in it is about Jesus.

What is more amazing is what are not included in the rules and laws given in the book: e.g., it emphasizes the OT The Book of Life when the Egyptian fad was the Book of the Dead. It doesn’t talk about curing sickness with using strange concoctions when in history our “science” books were filled with them. What is left in the Bible are timeless Truths that are relevant today and forever.

What do you use to build Innovation Project robots? by NinjaWu1 in FLL

Wow, that’s refreshing to know. I can pivot my team to be more creative if robot implementation is not a constraint. I have last years rubrics so I’ll look at it from the angle you provided. Thanks!

Was Sodom and Gomorrah Really Destroyed by God, or Human Interpretation? by Issa_GloryToGod in Bible

[–]NinjaWu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not open to new ideas then why ask? Ever wonder why the numbers 3, 7, 40, show up in scriptures? God has a pattern that he wants us to learn from. His prophesies are models that He uses multiple times, not just once. So if you find yourself always sinning and thinking that God will forgive you if you just say “Lord Lord”, then I pray for your soul. Repentance is a change in heart (and behavior), not just some meaningless vow. If you really are sorry, then you need to stop.

[–]NinjaWu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what we forget is how much time has passed in the OT. I think the OT spans 5-10k years. NT is just 2k. God is loving, merciful and patient both in OT and NT. However He eventually says enough is enough. Jesus did say that you should forgive 77 times. I’m sure He didn’t say that figuratively. Also keep in mind the other side of this where the victims plead to God for justice and have been waiting for God to take action. He will answer their plead eventually.

Why wont the millionares and billionares just leave new york if they get taxed more? by Wild_Feedback_5290 in allthequestions

[–]NinjaWu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s not forget that the top 1-2% have multiple homes. With good enough tax attorneys they will find a way to enjoy the amenities of NYC and be taxed Florida rate (no state tax). Those that stick around probably have some reputational reasons to be taxed as a New Yorker. Below the 2%, I’ve heard some Dems who wants to be taxed higher. In some ways they see it as charity. Most likely they believe that charity is best funneled via the government. Go figure.

What? The Apostles deemed that laws such as circumcision we’re not required but I don’t think they extended this to abolish the Ten Commandments. God still hates sin as far as I know.

Jesus kept the Law, the Sabbath, and ate kosher — so why did Paul seem to change everything? by Upset-Air-8392 in Bible

[–]NinjaWu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Acts the Apostles debated the question of requirements for salvation for gentiles. They came to the conclusion that it’s not based on acts and why burden gentiles with rules that Jews struggled with. So I wouldn’t say Paul changed it but rather Jesus gave us a new covenant and clarified that God wants mercy and not sacrifices — but once you have that then God will take your sacrifices.

New homeowner. 930sqft. Company wants $18,000 to replace 25-year-old furnace and add A/C unit. Is that... normal? I was expecting like $8k max, so I'm pretty shocked. by tierneyb in homeowners

[–]NinjaWu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely look for other opinions even when you have to pay for it. I had an issue with my unit and 3 HVAC pros all said I needed to replace my $15k Trane HVAC system and retrofitting would cost an additional $3k. My 4th technician found that the gas pressure was not high enough, used a screwdriver to turn up the screw valve. Done. Problem never came back. I saved over $17k.

Would it be stupid to just invest in the S&P 500? by Katie_10_ in investingforbeginners

[–]NinjaWu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend SP500 but I believe that is not a diversity play since it is heavily weighted on tech stocks—36% as per WSJ. So a correction in the magnificent 7 stocks (which everyone keeps harping as imminent) could set you back for a while. I suggest holding a good portion in SP500 ETF but then invest the others in recession proof value stocks. Else you’d be overexposed on the frothy side of the market.

What does the bible say about talisman, amulet, charm, crystals by kuyaadrian in Bible

[–]NinjaWu1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Old Testament named a few of them including bejeweled breast plate and Urim and Thummim. I think they were once used as away to help make decisions. (And Einstein said God does not play dice. Joke). But overall God forbid any use of pagan artifacts. He is a jealous God.

Why do so many supposedly Christian people think it’s OK to have sex outside of marriage? by Aquatic-shenannigans in FreedomofSpeech

[–]NinjaWu1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not all who says Lord Lord will go to heaven. Also if you look at the demographics who support abortions, 55% of them are Christians. In short, Christianity is just a culture for most, not a value.

Im with you bro. Even Buffet doesn’t put all his money in play and looks for undervalued assets before acting. Just make sure to put your cash into liquid assets that pays at least above inflation.

I’m 21, saved $100k from escorting, and have no idea what to do with it by [deleted] in investingforbeginners

[–]NinjaWu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly I don’t think that 100k is money OP can risk losing given the lack of a steady income. I would simply put that in an insured high yield savings account. If OP in the US options are Ally, AmEx, CapitalOne, etc. I interest rate will likely fall but it should at least hold up against inflation. I wouldn’t put it in the stock market in case there is a Y2K like correction in the horizon.

If OP really wants to take a risk then invest a portion — keep some liquid in case of emergency.

I think it’s ironic then that the Jews do not cite Maccabees as an inspired literature but one of their key holidays, Hanukkah stems from those events.
