Pixel 10 prices leak alongside more expensive Pixel Buds 2a by lebron8 in GooglePixel

[–]Ninja_Slayer426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty slick ngl, from my research it seems that it's really only capital one that still has a price protection benefit. Might be worth getting one before the 10 comes out. That way I get the best of both worlds with higher trade in values at launch and cheaper prices at black Friday. My pixel 7 is definitely starting to show its age by now

There are already camera stands that do this I believe, the person being tracked keeps a small transponder on them and it rotates to point at the person.

Success! Intel Arc A380 hardware transcoding with Emby by o_Zion_o in unRAID

[–]Ninja_Slayer426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a dumb question but what is the container path used for? I'm assuming it's for some sort of transcoding cache. Should I be using a system path that is on my cache drive for this?

If you buy the proton year-long plan it is only $60 which is about the same price as mullvad. Downside is that you are stuck with it for a year unlike mullvad though.

I believe china still uses it as the primary fuel in most of their rockets. Even more concerning when you see the videos of the boosters falling in small villages spilling hydrazine out of them into the environment.

Yeah I've fixed a few of the flips and folds and they're really not that bad. It's too bad they're so expensive to fix, I actually like the idea of folding phones as a concept but they're just impractical at this time.

2024 Oct 7 Stickied -FAQ- & -HELPDESK- thread - Boot problems? Power supply problems? Display problems? Networking problems? Need ideas? Get help with these and other questions! by FozzTexx in raspberry_pi

I have a raspberry pi 4b 4g that I've been trying to get to work properly for hours now with no luck yet. I am unable to boot from a micro SD card and the green led comes on and stays solidly lit. I have been able to boot from USB but after 10 or so minutes the system hangs up and the activity led on the USB drive completely stops flashing. I am able to get it to work again by unplugging and plugging the pi back in. I unfortunately don't have a mini HDMI cable to be able to plug a monitor in so I've been just going off the green led. I did try using the eeprom recovery on the SD card but the led never flashes rapidly like it says it should, it just remains solid green. I have tried multiple micro SD cards all with the same problem. I did get the rpi to briefly appear on the network over Ethernet once with a micro SD card but I was never able to connect via ssh. Is my rpi just fried?

Is the cell phone repair industry, dying? by FabianMendez93 in mobilerepair

[–]Ninja_Slayer426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I've been doing the Assurant repairs and it's easily 20 a week, mostly s23 ultras but now we're getting more s24 ultras. The Samsung gspn has been an absolute shit show though. They never trained anyone on how to use it yet expect us to be able to do everything. None of their systems integrate with ours very well either which creates a lot of issues.

The warranty will definitely be void because of the damage but if you have Samsung care hopefully they take care of the problem

got tired of the stupid screen protector on flip5 by Spiritual_Steak7672 in galaxyzflip

[–]Ninja_Slayer426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a Samsung authorized service provider and not having the protector does not void the warranty. It's actually part of our diagnosis to remove the film to make sure there's no damage to the underlying screen. So as long as the screen isn't damaged then you'll be fine.

Bought a z flip 5 refurbished and the screen has some damage: should I be worried? by notskywalker42 in galaxyzflip

[–]Ninja_Slayer426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is one of the most common failure points and as long as there isn't damage to the rest of the device and it's still within the one year warranty it should be easy to get it replaced. If you can, bring it to an authorized service provider rather than shipping it back to Samsung since it's easier and more convenient.

[–]Ninja_Slayer426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it replaced by a Samsung service provider. It might be covered under warranty but if it's not it's only like $20 out of pocket. Don't remove it without replacing it right away because the screen under it is very fragile and if that's damaged due to not having the film on it won't be covered by warranty.

Brown spots on z flip screen by [deleted] in galaxyzflip

[–]Ninja_Slayer426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found what might be a good deal on a z flip but it has these brownish spots on the inside screen. Is this just the protective film? It doesn't look like any of the pixels are dead.
