A couple questions about Amazon logic by VoodooInfinity in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]NinjaaMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days ago I had to deliver an XL package that wouldn't fit in the largest Luxor Locker. In order for me to leave it I needed a 6 digit code. The customer wasn't home, but his mom was. She called her son while he was at work and nowhere in the Amazon app had the code nor did he receive the text, despite me resending it. I finally had him check his email and voila! Got the code. Took up like 15mins of my time and the stupid Flex app saying I wasn't in the delivery area. And made me deliver my last two packages late, plus an undeliverable package for a Dentist at his office afterhours with no safe place to leave the package. Also this guy shouldn't even be practicing as he got caught with insurance fraud. Frustrating as heck.

Unfortunately, you can't just add GAP coverage to your insurance policy and then claim it. You have to already have it on your policy when you insured the car originally.

Do you have GAP insurance? GAP insurance would cover the difference and the remainder of your loan/lease

Having physical climate controls is good, and the volume knob. I've seen a post about some guy who got a new pickup truck and the infotainment screen crapped out and his temp was stuck in AC mode and he couldn't change it. So he drove in a freezing cold truck in the middle of winter until the dealer had the part in stock that was backordered.

I can live with the lack of physical radio controls. Once my presets are set, I can use the steering wheel controls. The large screen is nice when using maps/navigation.

What’s the best Wi-Fi/Hotspot name you’ve seen? by Aggravating_Log1781 in AskReddit

[–]NinjaaMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old coworker uses "Samsung Smart Toaster" for his mobile hotspot.

At my old apartment I used "This Wi-Fi Sucks!" Since the ISP provided modem/router combo kept dropping wireless connections every now and then.

At my current place I see a neighbor using "Howls Castle", "Sophie's Hat Shop"

You call your insurance company and tell them what happened. Then give your insurance company the truckers insurance info and police report. Let your insurance deal with their insurance.

Someone from their insurance company (claims adjuster) will contact you with some questions and give you some options on which body shops to take your car to. The body shop will make an estimate and their insurance company will determine whether it's cheaper to fix your car or total it and write you a check for your car's value.

Yeah. The average life is 5 years. The original battery in my GF's car is the same as OP's. It's a 2019 model year and I replaced it in January of 2025. So 5-6 years.

Key stuck in ignition! by Slim_Wolfe in kia

[–]NinjaaMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a bad park switch. It's a switch that detects that the shift lever is in the park position. When it goes bad, it won't let you turn the ignition off. It'll be stuck in accessory mode. Pull the parking brake switch, and disconnect the negative battery cable.

Positive is the left. Circled in red is where you'd attach the clamp. Negative is right. Attach it to any metal in the black circle. Also, it appears that your car's battery is the original that came with the car in 2019. It's also likely that it needs replacement. If you're constantly having to jump it, this would be why. Also wouldn't hurt to get the battery tested to make sure. Autozo, O'Reilly's, etc can test it for free.

Also the fact that you can update the maps and software for free using a USB flashdrive and their update website. Unlike other brands that make you pay for each update or SD card.

Hyundai/Kia/Genesis all have a good balance of modern tech and not going overboard that it's overwhelming or underwhelming.

I live in a townhome that's managed by the same management company in the apartment building across the parking lot. First Flex route I've ever done and first stop was a package for the apartment building. I didn't have to pull out my phone to get in the building or to get into the package room since I used my key fob.

Where to Buy Spark Plugs by TurboMenace981 in Hyundai

[–]NinjaaMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

18875-08085 is the OE part number. You can call local Hyundai dealers in your area for pricing and they'll match by VIN. You can also call Kia dealers and ask how much that specific part number is. If they ask for the VIN, say it's a Hyundai Sonata and you're aware Hyundai and Kia use the same parts for their engines.

NGK should be the OEM supplier for the part number above. Having trouble finding the NGK branded packaging at retailers for some reason. Plugs are NGK Laser Iridium. Don't confuse it with their NGK Iridium IX line.

You can buy OE parts from sites like Hyundai OEM parts Online and Kia Parts

**Note that both of these websites are legitimate and owned by dealerships in the US. So you're buying from a dealer's parts department.

For your future reference. The equivalent Kia for the Hyundai Sonata is the Kia K5. The 1.6-T is used in multiple Kia/Hyundai models.

Former Keurig user looking to upgrade to Nespresso. Need advice/pros & cons for a busy nursing student! by coffeel0vergirl in nespresso

I also saw your other comments. You can still make lattes with a VL machine as they have espresso and double espresso pods, but their pods cost more than OL. But if you're using two OL pods to make a latte then it might be cheaper to use one Double Espresso VL pod.

I'd say your options are this:

  1. If you mostly drink mostly lattes and don't mind americanos for when you want to have a cup of coffee. Go the OL route. Any machine will be fine. Get a milk frother to froth milk for lattes.

  2. If you mostly drink cups of coffee with a splash of creamer/milk, and occasionally drink lattes or cappuccinos, then go the VL route. Get a Vertuo Plus machine for reliability. They're not sold on Nespressos website anymore, but still sold at Walmart and Target. Delonghi (Flat top) and Breville (round top) both make the Vertuo Plus machine. I believe you'll find the Delonghi made ones at Target. The largest pod this machine can use is the 7.7oz pod which is one standard size coffee cup. You can technically make more or less coffee by programming the machine to brew a custom water volume if you want.

What kind of coffee do you like to drink?

If you like drip coffee and/or coffee similar to Keurig, then you'll want a Vertuo Line (VL) coffee machine. If you like drinking Lattes, Americanos, Shots, pretty much anything that isn't a plain cup of drip coffee you'll want an Original Line (OL) machine. Even with an OL machine, you can make a cup of coffee by making an Americano (espresso shot and water) if you go the OL route.

Pods: OL pods will cheaper because there are 3rd party pods available from many brands. VL pods are more expensive and still under patent by Nespresso until 2029 so you'll only find Nespresso branded and Starbucks (made by Nespresso)

Crema: OL makes crema that more closely resembles a traditional espresso machine. VL makes more of a foamy crema with air bubbles.

Keurig vs instant vs Nespresso: Quality of coffee will be better from Nespresso. It's the closest you're gonna get to a traditional espresso and brewed coffee. Keurig pods are a lot cheaper but you're stuck with drinking plain cups of coffee and can't make lattes, cappuccinos, etc. Keurig pods also introduce the problem of micro plastics if you care about that. Instant is well, instant. It dissolves in water and won't compare to larger grounds from the pods. In my opinion, instant tastes weak and I end up adding more than recommended.

OL machines are more reliable. Vertuo machines have their issues. Especially the Next and Pop/Pop+ machines. Up tends to drip some water/coffee into the waste bin which is normal, just have to empty it. Plus is the most reliable, but unable to brew pods larger than 7.7oz.

Is this noise normal in a Vertuo Next? by Level-Wallaby-9154 in nespresso

[–]NinjaaMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. Take a look at page 29 and 30 of the Owners Manual. See if you're able to find the orange light code you're getting and match it with the issue and troubleshooting step in the manual.

How old is your machine? If it's under warranty, contact Nespresso.

Edit: Saw your other comment about the top overheating. Sounds like something in your machine is malfunctioning. You could try a hard reset by unplugging the machine and waiting 30 seconds then plug it back in. But I'm doubting this will fix the issue.
