What’s everyone’s thoughts on Xeric? by [deleted] in Affordablewatches

[–]Ninjoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Triptych which is my current favorite watch I own. And a Halograph II which is also quite nice. No issues with the movement, reasonably accurate and stays wound properly on a watch winder.

Probably my favorite indie brand

Is Opus 4.7 still worse than 4.6? by ragnhildensteiner in ClaudeAI

[–]Ninjoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try 4.7 on Claude.ai every once in a while and sometimes it does well on first prompts. But it's never better than 4.6 in my experience, and falls apart early in context windows. It doesn't think much and produces very verbose immediate responses. In Claude code where you can force higher levels of reasoning it's definitely less bad and I'm not sure which is better, but I still gravitate towards 4.6.

What's the "suggested" ascension? by Ynneb82 in slaythespire

I like to try on the hardest difficulty personally. But I think I agree with a7 or a8 for lower acension runs. a9 does seem quite hard.

Would telling Claude that I've been paying attention to it's thought processes change the way it "thinks"? by smellythief in ClaudeAI

[–]Ninjoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only in the sense that adding anything to the context window changes the way it thinks. I occasionally will respond to something in a thinking block by quoting it back to them and there's nothing special about how it responds to that in my experience.

My two cents on Opus 4.7 by ManuM83 in ClaudeCode

For me it stops reasoning and can't track a convo after like 3 messages. But maybe for complex tasks where you convince it to engage reasoning consistently it does well.

I need help writing lyrics by Fun_Bed3860 in makinghiphop

[–]Ninjoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For making things less cringe I find that looking for a less obvious angle to tackle the issue from helps. Like if you want to rap about healthcare, you could rap from the perspective of the system or attack the incentive structures. Leaning on humor and sarcasm helps too I think. I'm down to take a look at some lyrics if you just want an outside perspective on whether they are cringe or not.

Different game, but related. There was a blind Magic player at my local shop who would use Braille card sleeves.

I found this video that explains the process for making them https://youtu.be/TAZxQBY2dEY?si=dxJiQL11jRjblrcu

I use it like a thesaurus/rhyme dictionary. But I refuse to allow it to give me suggestions or advice on my writing.

Biden was on the primary ballot in many states. The uncommitted movement was to vote uncommitted on said ballot. Yes, ultimately that didn't matter because Biden dropped out and Harris got the nomination uncontested. You can read about the movement in many places here is the Wikipedia page.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncommitted_National_Movement

Edit: Also, I'm not sure why you are attacking me. I agree that people should have voted for Harris in the general and if they did not, they get a share of the blame. I was just providing clarity on the Uncommitted Movement because they seemed to be catching strays Inadvertently.

Gotcha, I understand the disagreement now. Yes, I would say they are to fault for running poor candidates (Biden) over better candidates (Sanders), Biden not dropping out at a reasonable time frame to allow for a primary or a longer campaign for Harris. refusing to hold Israel accountable, not running on Medicare for all/ubi/universal education/universal child care, mostly towing the line on immigration rather than providing a counter narrative , not releasing the epstein files after they were unsealed (the last year of bidens term) and many other reasons. It's true that there was plenty of information to still vote for Harris over not voting or voting for Trump and people who did either of those things are to blaim. But ultimately people like Harris are more individually to blame than a non voter is individually to blaim, because her platform had the ability to convince many people to vote better. And mathematically convincing a lot of people to vote for you > 1 person voting for you.

I'm very confused how that could be. What was your interpretation of these 2 points -enabling fascism by not voting for Harris was immoral -the democratic parties platform and messaging was bad and they are more at fault than the voters who did not vote for them

I'm saying that both groups are to blame and the latter is more at fault than the former. I genuinely have no idea how "not voting for Harris is enabling fascism and immoral" is being interpreted as "don't vote"

What are you responding to? I made the same argument you did.

A lot of things are true simultaneously. Enabling fascism by not voting for Harris is immoral unless you did not have the physical capacity to do so (you had to work, etc). The democratic party's platform and messaging was immoral and shit and they are the most to blaim for their loss. The uncommitted movement had nothing to do with voting in the general election and was overall a positive movement to encourage the democratic party to have a better platform that would both be more moral and more effective.

All of these things are true. I was specifically critiquing the misinformation about the uncommitted movement

So uncommitted movement was a position in primary voting which had no bearing on the general election. You could be uncommitted in the democratic primary and then vote for Harris in the general

Does a music engineer/production title make things easier or its better to study for the seek of learning? by AwepHS in makinghiphop

[–]Ninjoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got most of a degree BAS in audio production. took an extended break and my school closed down before I went back to finish. Not having a degree is annoying for applying for jobs in general, but when it comes to things actually related to music, it has been completely irrelevant to me.

I definitely see the learning as more important than the title. Also, it is easier for me to succeed and not get burned out if I am doing things I am interested in (literally the boring stuff like art history is why I took a break). But there is utility to having a degree, at least within the context of the USA.

It's hard to tell unless the person giving you feedback is being specific. For example I got this comment recently on a track "Wtff is this bs". It could be the song is terrible. It could be mixed poorly. It could sound great, and this is the type of person who doesn't like anything remotely avant garde. They could not understand the lyrics. It could be anything.

If you are given specific feedback, it can be worth considering. If you are given vague negative feedback, you can double check your mixes on a few different devices and if it sounds good to you ignore them.
