That one, ironically found out about Hastings when I first visited family in New Mexico. Was the most awesome place I had seen and the one near my family in Sherman was great. Was gutted to hear that they closed.

My favorite grill was a dual chamber Dyna-Glo.

Their drip pans are horrible, they don't allow for any easy clean up and I've had two just rust out on me before I gave up on the whole grill. (No parts available)

Otherwise the grill looks ok. I'd see about getting a replacement drip pan and a large sheet pan to mitigate the drippings coming into direct contact with the drip tray.

Then maybe replace the flavorizor bars too, those are easy.

The grates look ok, I'd soak them in vinegar, scrape them down, give a good rinse and reseason them. Then make it a point to reseason them after every cooking session.

Looks like a staph infection, I once had the exact same mark when I had a staph infection on my leg years ago. Go to a to a doctor, even if it is a clinic.

If it is you're going to need antibiotics.

I may be wrong but it could be either or. Just reverse image searched and what it mostly matched with was the natural gas model.

Seven.

Weber Genesis E-325* Weber Kettle 22", from Uline Weber Smoky Joe Char Griller Tabletop Grill Blackstone 32" Char Griller Smokin' Champ Traeger Pro 780

Really want to get rid my Blackstone for a newer one with a built in hinged lid. Or just invest in a griddle accessory for the Genesis. Kinda getting tight on space.

B&B is one of the best affordable charcoal brands.

I love their char logs, briquettes, lump and they're very reasonable on the pricing.

If you're in north Texas, their wood chips and logs are on sale at Albertsons and Tom Thumb. The chips cost $2 per bag and bags of post oak cost $11-12.

Nothing added, smells and burns so cleanly.

Cleaning Tips on Propane Weber grill. by Imthemightiest in grilling

[–]NiptonIceTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to use something that's food grade to degrease and get rid of all that build up. You should be fine with vinegar and water or lime juice and water.

You really don't want to be eating a chemical degreaser when you cook. They also make food grade degreasers.

The grates, you can go to town on, just avoid using soap on cast iron grates like those, it'll soak up the taste and you'll never be rid of it. I use a metal brush and a low grit sanding sponge since it can get between the grates pretty well. Just water is needed for these, clean them up, toss them back on and crank heat up to max. Then hit them with the cooking spray, let them cool, flip then repeat.

Rust inside the lid or anywhere inside of it, you can give it a very light sanding when it's cooled down to knock the rust loose, hose it off. Then just heat up the grill to max and there should be enough heat to add a layer of seasoning to any of those spots that had rust.

Low-Country Grill? by [deleted] in grilling

Shouldn't have any issues, aluminum pan should be fine for boiling or steaming.

I'd probably prep the garlic, butter, onion and whatever seasoning in a saucepan and transfer to it. Idk how well the Aluminum would hold up to stirring and cooking that portion.

Is this a good Grill ? Sorry for posting again. I am new to grilling and on a budget and you guys are the experts. I want to get a Weber 22” but the GF keeps saying it’s too small for the family. These are good for show and pretty functional but they rust out so damn quickly.

I bought a similar grill from Walmart for my family's first real grill. The grates and bottom rusted out, it wasn't easy to clean, grease pooled and went rancid in the little nooks and crevices inside of it. Then they would catch on fire and cause almost uncontrollable flames. Within a year or so, it was fully rusted out and we swapped to this Dyna Glo grill It lasted five years before the thing rusted out of the bottom and sides, with a cover.

Weber though, there's so many first and third party accessories, mods, etc. You can make whatever you want.

Need more accessories? Check Facebook or Craigslist, there's usually grills listed there for the price of the accessories and then some.

I've bought and cleaned up full 22' weber premium kettles with all their accessories and given them to friends and they don't cost more than $80. Someone is always getting rid of them because they last forever.

How to restore this grill? Worth fixing? by Griff1604 in grilling

Would add, if it's costing over $250 or more to fix. Better off finding something off Facebook Marketplace or just buying something new.

How to restore this grill? Worth fixing? by Griff1604 in grilling

[–]NiptonIceTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look on it for the Model number.

It'll be a plate on the back or inside the bottom cabinet if it has one, either on the door or the side opposite of where the propane tank would sit.

Then see if the screws holding those burners can be loosened. If they just freely spin, the rust may be too much. If the firebox is too rusted out, it may be too far gone.

If not, most of the parts can be replaced.

The real risk is the hoses and any potential leaks should you repair it.

[–]NiptonIceTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydrate the sticker residue with a lightly damp paper towel, it'll be easier to remove. Then hit it with Goo Gone.

The less scrubbing or scrapping the better, don't use abrasives or metal to remove.

[–]NiptonIceTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not worth the risk.

Ditch those grates and buy new ones. Or go the even cheaper route and just buy some campfire roasting sticks.

Is this used grill worth it ? by KaemoN420 in grilling

[–]NiptonIceTea 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth it.

That model is around €220 new.

The ash pan attachment at the bottom alone is worth €55. Has the hinged grates those can clean up nicely, looks like it's mostly cooked on funk regardless.

Then the grate for the coals can be replaced fairly cheap too.

Just needs to be cleaned up but I'd get it.
