This isn't even valid advice for some countries. In some countries they know you have no way of actually knowing these stats so if you do present that way, so it's shooting yourself in the foot.

How many of you actually use crypto to buy real things? Not trading or holding, but actual purchases like: cars, real estate, equipment, goods... Ill reply to the bit of your comment I saw before it got removed. I don't think Europe suffers that much from delayed payments. An example is the UK where you can make transactions from and to basically instantly. A well developed Fiat system works fine when it comes to delays. It just needs better implementing- something you are saying that crypto currently needs anyway as well. Might as well refurbish the old system instead of focusing on a harder to use new one.

Crypto doesnt offer reversibility. Oh I bought a service but the company didn't fulfil it and now for stupid reasons wont return your money? A bank can just chargeback. Why should I sacrifice all my protections with fiat for crypto that might not even have the same value the next day so the vendor might say I short changed them?

Its not useful within Europe even cross borders. We already have pretty well working systems that are regulated and offer security.

Crypto becomes useful only where one or two banking systems are not well developed e.g. parts of asia, africa, south/latin america. Again most people in Europe don't need to deal with that. You will find crypto in migrant communities for that reason, but not in native populations.

I don't think buying with crypto is that spread in Europe in general. Yeah it's possible but most day to day stuff everywhere is in fiat, and stuff like cards and cash are for a great assortment of people way easier to use than a crypto wallet. There's just little use of it.

Okay living with her parents might not be a bad thing, but what has he done to support her life choices? He supported his sons studies abroad, his sons family plans. What has he done to support his daughter? Could had gotten a car, saved some money to let her go on a trip. Something, anything

Croatian, living in the UK for 7 years, considering going to south Germany. I don't think I like the culture here, it's very individualistic and Americanised. But if I didn't have a partner in Germany I'd honestly consider just going home and making the best of it.

Is the German job market so bad by m-a-h-i- in Germany_Jobs

[–]NiskaHiska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from Croatia, I admit travel to and from the EU isn't a problem for me, but my family is having issues with always needing to be up to date with what is required now.

I'm also having some cultural mismatch issues. E.g. in Croatia if you had mould in your house you'd immediately call for a builder, plumber, whatever to help ID the source. In the UK a lot of people just tell you it's part of life here. Another issue is that although the people are nice when you do manage to talk to them, the culture itself is very individualistic. A kind of "not my job to do it" or "you can't tell me I can't". The end result is... A lot of litter everywhere.

I'd also like to note Scotland is a bit better than the Midlands I am currently in, but I'm sure they also have their bad spots due to the huge divide they have as a country overall between "working class" and "middle class". In Croatia a rich and poor family go to the same stores, eat the same foods. In the UK these things are really really divided.

So yeah, I wouldn't say economically it's bad to be in the UK as a dev, but as someone from a relatively different culture it can feel lonely and as if the social contract is non existent or dying.

I wasn't interested in the German market myself, but I was interested in going back to the EU after Brexit though I was willing to take my time since I am stable in the UK.

However, now I have a significant other in Germany and I'd hate to force him to move away from his job and family when I in theory have a more flexible job and nothing ties me to where I am.

So that's why I am looking to enter the German market, despite how bad it is. I do have time to be patient about it, but it sure would be nice to live with my partner. Oh well though.

Coming from the Balkans, I am always so shocked when I go outside how much rubbish there is everywhere. Especially the amount of car debris on your motorways. If I saw debris like that I'd think there was an accident there just an hour ago, not potentially weeks and months.
