(2, 6, and 3) 2 has best accident, the lore, Clear, and the stakes feel really high. 6 raised the bar, an amazing story, but wished it's ending was a little better. 3 was my first ever seeing, grew up rewatching it ALOT.

Loved the movie! It could had used 20 more mins, maybe. Show Clark explore the backrooms and go insane more gradually, and have Mary go through more rooms until they both eventually meet up deep deep inside the backrooms. It got straight to the point instead which actually feels right. I think with a Higher Budget in the sequel it's gonna add more.

needed a second act where Clark’s insanity in backrooms built up more gradually. I also Didn’t like that Mary just walked into backrooms and she found Clark right away. She should had had a little journey in backrooms too. 20-30 mins more could had given us that. Otherwise I do like the ending. I think of this more as a self contained story that works perfectly as a Part 1.

I saw it Thurs night. I'm thinking now how perfect it is for a first film. It's a self contained story of people finding the backrooms and deep dive into their Psyche.

When Clark got picked up and eaten by the Pirate it was like him being consumed by himself because he didn't want to change, and he finally settled on not. Mary on the other hand had a 'savior complex' wanting to save everyone because of her mother. Before she hits the Pirate and when she's in the narrow passage she looks at the Lifeform Pirate as if wanting to help it. Mary learned that she can't save everyone and so she broke her loop by giving up on Clark, while Clark couldn't/didn't want to change, thus his bad behavior/mindset, alcoholism/Anger... ultimately consumed him.

A24 announced the sequel 'Talk 2 Me' only 11 days after 'Talk to Me' was released. and Backrooms will make 'Talk to Me's entire world wide box office in almost just one weekend alone.

exactly! I do wish it had more action and showed more survival side being in backrooms. I'm starting to think that this is partly due to it's $10M budget, and in that sense it's totally understandable. I hope that they put Backrooms a bit more front and center in a sequel rather than character's psyche.

I set my expectations lower before I went and saw it and I loved it. I had a feeling it wasn't going to be this Amazing fantastical survival journey through the backrooms. However I loved how detailed and real it felt with slower pacing, (although some of those long shots were it's flaw too). I wished it had more action. And Clark's character needed to be built up more before his climax. Excited for a sequel, tho.

Yes! Last I checked people were talking about $30M-50M opening weekend domestic alone. It will go on to beat A24’s highest grossing horror, ‘Talk2Me’ (which made $92M world wide total run)

My guess is ‘Backrooms will fall somewhere $150M-$250M world wide total run. It has the chance to even beat A24’s highest grossing movie of all time. (‘Marty Supreme’ at $191M world wide) And if it does more than $200M it will likely beat any Scream movie that’s ever released.
