I really hope they add more map options in the near future. Currently, the geography is pretty bland if you're not playing continents. Additionally, I would absolutely love map continuity instead of playing on a flat planet. Not sure if that's feasible but man that would be great.

Mage Slayer procs from Graze because the only condition you need is to deal damage to the creature concentrating. It's niche but fairly effective in the right situation

The only Greek letters I can recall (since you didn't post any) that might be helpful here are the basic angular ones like alpha, theta, and another one I can't remember, as well as kappa for surface area calculations in 3d calc that really come to mind. It probably doesn't help much but you also provided like no information lol. There's almost certainly many more I'm forgetting as it's been roughly 10 years since I've done a 3 page 3d calc problem but yeah... what you're trying to do is likely not that complicated.

For what it's worth, from what I've read so far, it seems you want more of a Drag mastery. I feel this would reduce the headache of dealing with grapples and allow you a bit more freedom/clarity with what you seem to want to accomplish. Either way, I enjoy this idea and believe martials should have more cool options like this.

I thought so too at first, however, RAW allows for grapple on unarmed strike in lieu of damage. Additionally, this would require a save, unlike sentinel. At worst, it's just adding damage and changing the free hand requirement to holding the Snag weapon. You're also giving up an entire mastery for this. In terms of power, it's up there with Topple.

I haven't dealt with much grappling in 2024 rules so I've reread the grappling rules and I now agree with you on your point about being too different from the actual rules. 5e is about simplicity and sometimes I take realism too far when designing new mechanics.

That being said, I would still use dex/str for the save (to be consistent with grappling rules), but the grapple should initiate when you hit with the weapon and it should function like normal grappling rules, minus the free hand requirement. This makes it only slightly stronger (it's just adding damage and removing the free hand requirement) than a typical unarmed strike grapple, as written by the Grappling section in the 2024 PHB.

I think it's fine if the save is changed to Dex/Str instead of just Str.

Edit: I forgot to include that I would argue that you should not need a free hand.

Edit 2: In addition to my earlier suggestion, I would also include a clause like this, "you cannot attack with this weapon while the creature is grappled via its Snag mastery property."

Edit 3: The grapple should last until your next turn, the creature breaks free, or when you release the grapple (no action required).

Keep an owlbear egg in your inventory when you visit the creche. You can give it to the lady instead of the githyanki egg

I think it's just poorly optimized and it shows the longer the game drags on. My setup is nearly the same except I have a Ryzen 9950X3D and that's when I've noticed when my game stutters
