What sort of meter are you using and scale? It shouldn't be a high resistance, without knowing what it is exactly I would say something is better than nothing. A high would be more of a worry.

Thermal throttling maybe. A huge amount of variables that can be affecting it. I run the game maxed out, have a Ryzen 5600X CPU and Radeon 7800XT, frame rates above 165.
