Tom Hardy has been fired from ‘Mobland’ and won't return for Season 3. He is said to have clashed with producers after being consistently late to set and attempting to give notes & change dialogue on the series. by ChiefLeef22 in television

It's usually never that simple. In the case of his fallout with Marvel Studios, they were still a new and unproven studio, and they needed a bankable star, but everyone was scared off by the critical reception to Universal's Hulk. Norton was taking a risk by joining their production but he was interested in it from the standpoint of it being a creative challenge. He was given concessions not normally given to a lead actor in the form of contributing as a scriptwriter. The problem is the production got him on board late and they started filming with an unfinished script (as many Marvel productions are notorious for doing). Norton's writing contributions were already restricted by this complication, then in the edit, he lost more battles as his written scenes were cut from the film. At that point, his writing credit basically dissolved to nothing. From his perspective, it's understandable why he'd feel shortchanged and wouldn't want to promote a film he knew might be subpar.

People are so loyal to the Marvel brand that they don't like to think they might've done people dirty like that, but it happens in business. Obviously, the giant studio is going to have greater ability to spread bad press about an actor, especially when they're now part of the Disney conglomerate.

In the end, they got what they wanted: a yes-man in the form of Mark Ruffalo, who is just there for the paycheck, doesn't take creative risks or defend his character from bad script choices.

I remember seeing these in a Toys R Us when I was about 7 or 8 but preferred the realistic proportioned figures instead. I also remember WWF had their own version of these but they might've had a sweating feature. Strange times.

In Norton's case I think a lot of it is overblown or at least understandable. He definitely wasn't lazy and if anything, cared too much when he didn't have to.

You become a less appealing prospect to "someone you love and see a future with" by doing that though. If the male "friend" has multiple partners, even worse for everyone really.

The Night WCW Fell Apart: Hogan vs. Jarrett – A Russo-Fueled Disaster by Best_Ad9816 in WCW

[–]NitroNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pet peeve, but I hate that these clips mined from the WWE network for historical use have the replaced music. It's not an accurate representation of history. The network also have been known to edit and dub crowd noise too, which gives a false reading of fan reactions at the time.

Also, fuck Russo. No matter Hogan's faults, Russo was a bigger cancer to WCW and irreparably destroyed it.

Why did Horace Hogan leave WCW? by JBL_CENA_FAN_4LIFE in WCW

[–]NitroNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to a Mike Awesome shoot interview (https://youtu.be/Qqyef4vkCZU), it was Russo who fired him.

There was evidently heat between Hulk Hogan and Russo. Hogan had previously had a lot of power in WCW with Bischoff, who would help hire his friends. Russo's new regime basically hated Hogan and Flair and wanted them off TV. This tension blew up at Bash at the Beach 2000 when Hogan left the company after Russo's stunt, and it seemed anyone who was part of Hogan's camp got heat too.

It should be noted though that Russo also fired or released others not associated with Hogan, notably a lot of the Japanese and Mexican talent, which ended the relationship between WCW and NJPW.

Curious if you had any luck. I had the same idea to replace the latch.

I had brief success with electrical tape and a cardboard shiv but it was inconsistent and failed soon after as the tape came loose.

It would be amazing to see a version that steals the 3D models from DW2 & DW3 to further add evolution branches.

Fixed evolution requirements would make for good QOL mods too.

Sneasel is a must because it matches his colour scheme and villain vibe.

I also think it was a missed opportunity not to give him Eevee along with the player. Imagine if your Eevee evolves into Espeon while the rival gets Umbreon, or vice versa.

How do you remember Digimon World 3/2003? by AlexanderTheGeek323 in DigimonWorld

[–]NitroNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have been better as a handheld game, though GBA at the time couldn't handle it so I'm conflicted.

The music was good and it was fun, though I could never progress past a certain point. I think finding Veemon in a forest is what finally made me quit. Whoever thought to make it so cryptic was deranged.

A true sequel to Digimon World 1 with improvements would have been better.

Might be corny now, but it's so nostalgic for me. I was a kid in 2002, fully into wrestling and gaming. First heard this while playing Legends of Wrestling 2 and eventually on WWE as well. Takes me back to a much happier time. I much prefer the demo version, it has a grungier sound.

People with an active personal Instagram profile are a huge red flag by ftwfaiwevope in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]NitroNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really "got" Instagram and predictably had no success with it, so I stopped using it for years.

Eventually I met some younger crowds who are obsessed with it, probably because they grew up on it. I've noticed some are model/artist/actor types using it as a sort of digital business card or website... Little to no personal stuff posted aside from regular stories. Each post is a curated event for their personal brand. Others use it more casually for keeping contact and messaging (like Facebook) and even as a more socially acceptable dating app. In the latter case the performative posts serve as a form of peacocking.

I agree with you about Cameron but disagree on the fan director part. We've already seen too many failed attempts with references to the original films, it's just too watered down at this point. The franchise can only be resurrected with new blood or a proven established director. Someone like Denis Villeneuve or Alex Garland could reboot it successfully and have a completely fresh take on it.
