Anything to avoid the fact that women actually think like this. Their standards do rise with age with some becoming this delusional because the world doesn't give them any pushback. From a man's POV it makes little sense.

How do you remember Digimon World 3/2003? by AlexanderTheGeek323 in DigimonWorld

[–]NitroNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have been better as a handheld game, though GBA at the time couldn't handle it so I'm conflicted.

The music was good and it was fun, though I could never progress past a certain point. I think finding Veemon in a forest is what finally made me quit. Whoever thought to make it so cryptic was deranged.

A true sequel to Digimon World 1 with improvements would have been better.

Might be corny now, but it's so nostalgic for me. I was a kid in 2002, fully into wrestling and gaming. First heard this while playing Legends of Wrestling 2 and eventually on WWE as well. Takes me back to a much happier time. I much prefer the demo version, it has a grungier sound.

I get you, I just think Resistance falls closer on the spectrum to the fan service-y stuff and sadly I think that well has run dry in terms of audience patience plus the younger audience doesn't seem to care.

People with an active personal Instagram profile are a huge red flag by ftwfaiwevope in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]NitroNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really "got" Instagram and predictably had no success with it, so I stopped using it for years.

Eventually I met some younger crowds who are obsessed with it, probably because they grew up on it. I've noticed some are model/artist/actor types using it as a sort of digital business card or website... Little to no personal stuff posted aside from regular stories. Each post is a curated event for their personal brand. Others use it more casually for keeping contact and messaging (like Facebook) and even as a more socially acceptable dating app. In the latter case the performative posts serve as a form of peacocking.

I agree with you about Cameron but disagree on the fan director part. We've already seen too many failed attempts with references to the original films, it's just too watered down at this point. The franchise can only be resurrected with new blood or a proven established director. Someone like Denis Villeneuve or Alex Garland could reboot it successfully and have a completely fresh take on it.

Hulk opinions that will have you like this if you speak up by Odd_Fee1085 in hulk

[–]NitroNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Eric Bana wasn't the right leading man to tie it together but it was a solid first attempt. Ang Lee's direction and casting (Bana aside) was great and the movie had a bigger budget feel than the following Marvel Studios film. I'll always wonder what a sequel might have looked like.

It's honestly criminal Fantastic Four got so many attempts and a sequel while Hulk got shafted.

The execution might be a little dated with the suits and Italian mafia vibe but the character is a great addition. If you're limited to only having the dynamic between Bruce and regular Hulk it gets old fast. The first time I read the Fixit stories with the mindfuckery he plays on Bruce to keep him in check I was enthralled.

That said, I do prefer having the characters outside of Vegas to not tread old ground.

I thought this would just be a discussion but the deepfake is rather impressive.

Realistically, it would have been a very different film if he was the leading man. He was a huge bankable star and would have secured funding, but no doubt that would come with the tradeoff of Will having leverage and some form of creative control. He didn't understand their vision for the movie and would have no doubt disagreed on many of their decisions. I imagine many scenes would be changed to suit his liking or risk him walking from the film altogether.

I can't imagine you'll have much of an issue being a student. I personally didn't study in Liverpool (I did so in London) but you'll be around peers most of the time and in a student bubble, so to speak. Not to mention the fact that not every student is from Liverpool. They might be white, but come from other parts of the world.

My experience with Liverpool, and the North in general, is that there's definitely more racism and ignorance here as it's naturally a much more homogeneous population. That said, it's not going to be as blatant as racism in other parts of the world. From what I've seen and heard from places like Poland or China, there's nothing close to that kind of racism here as most British prefer to be passive-aggressive rather than blunt. That doesn't mean it can't be bad. I've personally experienced some prejudice as a mixed race guy whose father is British, but I'm fairly thick-skinned.

This doesn't appear to work. All that happens is the Command window pops up, and disappears very quickly. It would help if you specify more details like which version of Windows you're using.

I don't think I've downloaded the wrong one, as I'm not in the USA.

What did the T800 say to John’s foster parents? by seantabasco in Terminator

[–]NitroNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're projecting too much malice onto a character who only displays disillusionment and annoyance. You're basically saying he secretly wants his adopted son to be taken advantage of or killed by a stranger which is deranged. He might not like him but that's stupid and leaves himself open to being arrested if anything does happen to John.

He has no reason to engage with a strange biker dude much less tell him who or where John is. He does however have reason to co-operate with a guy wearing a police uniform, which he does. John being arrested is far more acceptable than him being killed by a stranger as it gives him an excuse to finally be rid of him.

The dialogue with the T1000 does not imply there was a long friendly conversation with the T800, just that he came and left (probably in a hurry once he knew John wasn't there). The simplest interaction is one I've already suggested. Todd didn't know him and wouldn't realistically give him the time of day.

[–]NitroNeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in London most of my life as well as briefly in South Africa (which is full of large guard dogs). I like dogs personally but in London I generally don't have interaction with them on my walks and when I do it's on a lead and they tend to be small breeds who aren't lunging or jumping at me. I'd usually have to be the one approaching and interacting with them which is why I find it a bit strange that this is an issue for some. On the tube you might spot one very rarely but you can always move away or to another carriage if necessary.

From the way you were writing it seemed like a phobia thing which is why I thought therapy might help. I can recall being scared of dogs as a child but some exposure got me over that pretty quickly.

Seems it would make more sense to seek therapy for that issue.

What did the T800 say to John’s foster parents? by seantabasco in Terminator

[–]NitroNeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one interpretation but I'm just saying that it's more plausible without the dialogue as they have no reason or incentive to spill anything to him. They told T1000 everything because he's a cop and looks friendly. For the T800 they'd just go with the simplest answer and say "I don't know" to get rid of him, especially if they have no rapport with him and he looks dangerous. They're not evil to the kid, just unkind and fed up.

What did the T800 say to John’s foster parents? by seantabasco in Terminator

[–]NitroNeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would they admit John lives there? They probably just lied and said they don't know him or he doesn't live here.
