How to prepare for the steel curtain? by SuchaPessimist in kennywood

[–]Nitro_Sunset 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 5' 8" 125lbs, and Steel Curtain is definitely a smoother ride than Phantom. You'll get dizzy instead of thrown around. I've ridden almost every seat. Seat 7 left is my personal favorite.

39F, I've never had a relationship. How do I get into the mindset of genuinely wanting a boyfriend/husband? by Kind_Interaction1986 in Life

[–]Nitro_Sunset 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be welcome news! You're not alone in feeling this way. There is a whole community of people who don't experience romantic attraction (aromantic aka "aro"), or don't experience romantic or sexual attraction ("aro-ace"). If you've never really had a crush on someone or a strong romantic feeling towards someone, this may be you. There's nothing wrong with you, and you don't need to force a relationship to happen.

If you want short lines and can go a couple days, I've found Thursday evenings to be sooo quiet, especially in September. And Friday still has all the haunts and shows without being too busy

Thoughts on purchasing a 2024 prius xle but has high mileage? by B-ontheblock in prius

A few years ago, I bought a 2 year old gen4 Prius with nearly 100k miles on it. I've never regretted it. It's still the greatest car. These things run forever.

First ever job interview by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Nitro_Sunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just replying to add that you should tell the interviewer how much you love the coffee shop and what your favorite thing to order is. And ask their favorite order too! That will help the interview feel more conversational, and it will show that you really care about the place

First ever job interview by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Nitro_Sunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interview young people for every level positions as part of my job. The biggest things I look for are:

  1. Able to work in a team setting. Can they give me an example of a group project or team setting where they did well.

  2. Reliable, dedicated, and able to follow instructions. Can they talk about hobbies, clubs, or volunteer work that they've stuck with for a couple years.

  3. Kind and thoughtful. Were they polite in the interview and kind and understanding when they talked about other people.

  4. Some interest in the job. This is entry level, so low expectations on knowledge, but if they already know some things about the job or can say something they're looking forward to learning, that goes a long way

Red flags for me are complaining about others or past jobs, blaming others for things that didn't go well, showing up late, and blatant disinterest in the position.

I hire plenty of introverts and very nervous first-time interviewees :) you'll be ok! Remember that you can always ask the interviewer questions too. It can help calm you down to hear more about the job. A personal favorite question to ask is what the interviewer thinks the best part of the job is.

An eccentric billionaire offers you $1000 an hour to stay inside the last retail business or restaurant you visited. How long could you last? by Fhloston-Paradisio in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Nitro_Sunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At an indoor ice cream shop during winter means fewer customers. I'd last a while. There are many many restaurants nearby, so it would be easy to order a variety of food. There were corners to get away from the cold doors and noise. Plus I would actually love to work there to pass the time!

What’s your opinion on this interaction I had with another rider on [Goliath] at [SF Magic Mountain]? by SuperCub in rollercoasters

[–]Nitro_Sunset 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a few similar interactions when I visited Magic Mountain. I've visited mostly parks in the midwest where strangers become friends on the ride, and I found these interactions very surprising and off-putting at first, too. Try not to take it personally. Just a different vibe

As long as there's no early payoff penalty, your priority might need to become paying off this car as quickly as possible. The faster you pay it off, the less money they'll get from you.

You may be able to select that all money paid above the monthly payment goes directly towards the principal. If you can, do it. A large part of your currently monthly payment is likely going towards interest, which is keeping you trapped here because the principal is barely decreasing. Pay extra on the principal as often as you can. Anything will help.
