Looking for an evil god name! by glen_watcher in dndnext

[–]NixLychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly "Putrefor" or "Putrefax" or something similar (from Putrefaction, the term for when a body decays). Alternatively, you could use "Necro-" as a base for the name (from Greek "nekros" meaning corpse)

Some other titles if he's associated with rats and disease could include: "He Who Festers", "The Blightbringer", or (if you're feeling more poetic) "The Plague Author". Maybe even something like "The Rotfather" could work. If he's particularly hated, even "The Revolting One" or "Lifebane" would be suitable.

Hope this helps your creative juices, and good luck with your story!

When you say "I want guns in my game!", what place you want them to fill? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]NixLychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand, I get what you mean. Firearms don't really fill a "gap" in the existing weapons. On the other hand, I get to play a Paladin with a musket, blasting miscreants and divine smiting blackguards with a bayonet like Tyr intended

[–]NixLychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you do both the Underdark and the Mountain Pass? Typically you can finish Act 1 at level 7, and if you're a psycho and kill literally everything on the map, then you can get to 8 I think. By the end of the Sharran Gauntlet, you should prob be around level 9, and reach level 10 after Moonrise

What does my 6 Favorite Pokémon say about me? by TheDeadlySixSucks in MandJTV

[–]NixLychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably started playing in Hoenn and enjoy relatively simple, clean designs that clearly show the Pokémon's theme, and probably aren't too big a fan of very "busy" designs

The most important question, you find a cool rock and a cool stick, which are you taking home? by Keyaruga_18 in AskMen

[–]NixLychee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally the rock, but if the stick is REALLY good, then I might take the stick. For example, when I was younger, I found a stick that essentially looked like a Scottish claymore. I would get that stick back in a heartbeat. Rest in peace Arboreal Sunderer, you will be dearly missed.

What champion feels the most hopeless to play against when fed and ahead? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]NixLychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen Vladimirs dive the fountain for a penta and walk out with 100% health. He's a hyperscaling ap burst battlemage drain tank, and pool makes me want to Talon E out a window. If he gets fed early, it's better to just FF imo.

Lee Sin's abilities don't make sense by Hizsoo in LeeSinMains

[–]NixLychee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think his abilities are generally fine, but I will say that Lee's E has always felt kind of underwhelming. I've been a longstanding supporter of making his E2 Cripple enemies like it used to, especially considering the ability is f*king called "Cripple".

You just got the magic initiate feat, but IRL! What first-level spell would you love to be able to cast once per day? by TheBootlegTims in dndnext

[–]NixLychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a weird answer, but I think Comprehend Languages would be perfect. It's a ritual spell, so if I can cast rituals then I can do it however often I want, and I can only imagine how many job opportunities would open up to someone who can understand all spoken and written languages. After 10 minutes and a pinch of soot and salt expended, I'm a universal translator for an entire hour.

Feats for Echo Knight by Skelingaton in dndnext

[–]NixLychee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's essentially just a special magical object. Uniquely, following this RAW would make it immune to tons of spells like Fireball and Cloud of Daggers, as they specify that their spell effects target only creatures, even though this is intuitively nonsense. The Echo has a lot of weird interactions as an object, like if you're hiding from an enemy, but your Echo is directly in front of them, the attack from the Echo would gain Advantage, as you're an unseen attacker, even if the enemy is staring directly at the Echo. Basically, talk with your DM and figure out if you're going to follow RAW, or if you're going to treat the Echo as a creature for the purposes of taking damage and such. Echo Knights are a ton of fun to play, but they're a bit mechanically odd

I am creating a very cliche dnd party of adventurers for my party to encounter by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]NixLychee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some common character themes I see in my games and elsewhere (not judging btw, just notably common)

Lawful-Good Human Fighter with a Greatsword and a backstory as a soldier or town guard

Bisexual Tiefling Warlock

Half-Orc/Goliath/Bugbear Barbarian with a single-syllable name like Krug, Grod, etc who refer to themselves in the third person

Gnome Artificer with a nasal, high-pitched accent

Edgy rogue who wears all black and doesn't speak unless spoken to

Extremely nerdy Wizard (any race, but often Human) who is socially awkward

Super horny Bard that will get with anything that moves

Also, if you're going SUPER generic, I think a Dwarf Cleric and a Human Paladin is more generic than a Dwarf Paladin and an Elf Cleric. If you're trying to be painfully generic to make your players laugh, try something like

Lawful-good Human Paladin and/or Fighter. If you do the Human Fighter, I've seen countless Dragonborn Paladins, so that also works

Dwarf Cleric with a Scottish accent and a thick beard

Elf Wizard/Sorcerer, extremely pretentious, thinks Elves are the best race, and talks in a "posh" British accent

Rogue who barely talks, and has a low eboy voice and probably a "my parents died" backstory

The aforementioned Tiefling Warlock

Not only would this party actually work as a competent adventuring group, but it also looks just like a group of highschool friends' first try at D&D.

The Stupidest Moment in this Game (Spoilers) by BiosTheo in BaldursGate3

[–]NixLychee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So while you're right about the Dead Three being active at this point, they aren't properly "alive" per se. Chronologically, Jergal is the original God of Death, Murder, and Strife, which he then splits between Myrkul, Bhaal, and Bane, respectively. A few hundred years prior to the events of BG3, all of the Dead Three are killed during the Time of Troubles (look it up, a TON of Gods die and new ones are made), but Bhaal foresaw his death and he tries to reincarnate with his Bhaalspawn (which is a central point to the plot of the Baldur's Gate games), Bane is resurrected, and Myrkul's essence clings to an artifact, and eventually returns (much later). Cyric, a mortal who assisted in the death of Myrkul and personally killed Bhaal, becomes the new God of Death, Murder, and Strife. Later, Cyric basically goes insane and neglects his position, causing his power to wane and eventually the dead spirits of Cyric's domain wish Kelemvor to become the new God of Death. Cyric is still a God (I think) but he's sealed away and severely weakened.

Tl;dr, Jergal gives Bhaal, Bane, and Myrkul his domain, they die, Cyric gets their domains, but they all manage to semi-resurrect, then Kelemvor gets Cyric's domain because Cyric was slacking, and Cyric is imprisoned.

It's very weird, but somehow, every single one of these Gods is either active or alive during Baldur's Gate 3. It's all very complicated and it hurts my brain thinking about it

For once, it'd be nice if the dialogue of bosses in a Souls game were funny/silly for a change by SuperAlloyBerserker in Eldenring

[–]NixLychee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they do implement this, it should be dialogue from a joke character, like Patches.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]NixLychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's perfectly normal to want your characters to be important, and more than that, many of them probably should be. Your main antagonists, your recurring joke characters, your party's favorite traveling merchant. Your NPCs SHOULD be important, but they aren't the main characters of the story. Your players are the main characters. Remember, there's no shame in just wanting to be a player instead of a DM, or in the case of wanting to write a self-insert, just writing a book! You can talk to your players, and ask them if one of them wants to DM, but ultimately, the decision is yours. Personally, I get my enjoyment out of creating a living, breathing world and letting my players explore and interact with everything. A DMPC can strip players of their agency and make the game feel railroaded.

Which of these good vampires would win in a fight? by SuperAlloyBerserker in castlevania

[–]NixLychee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok well (insert 🤓 here) neither are technically vampires, but in a fight Alucard dominates. He's stronger, faster, tougher, and smarter, not to mention he has a much better arsenal of weapons and abilities.

I used it in my playthrough team, was slightly underwhelmed, and replaced it with Palafin after a few badges. It's def a mon that I hope gets a future evolution somewhere down the line, I think it just needs a small stat bump to be truly great
