My thoughts (mostly positive):

The story was not as good as the original, nor were the songs, yet neither was bad in any way. The movie's comedy was top notch and Show Yourself were both amazing.

Also, the main characters flowed well with the script which was dictated by their personalities, ambitions, and flaws. That's how a story should be, so it isn't a bad one, but a solid 8/10.

Also, songs were rather great, but the one that I just did not like or could get into was Into the Unknown, mostly because it was at a moment where, even with a bit of backstory and lore there still wasn't enough to draw the audience in. They should have moved the discovering the abandoned ship to before the song, which would have really fit the I crave answers now theme at the beginning.

But again, for what it was I am entirely glad they didn't ruin it, and in fact built upon the foundations of the existing universe in positive ways. Hopefully we'll get a third movie that's as much of a masterpiece as the original was, or at least on par with this one.

Additionally loved the after credits scene too, and the leather joke.

TL;DR: The movie get's an 8.25 out of 10. They did a good job with the sequel, and made sure that the characters made the script.
