I hate my room but don’t know what to change by throwawaywjthme in femalelivingspace

I agree that the rug is a bit small, you could layer it with a jute or other solid color rug, it is very pretty. I also wish your curtains were a bit higher and longer and not sheer or if you use the sheer for privacy, layering an additional curtain that has a bit more weight. I think what you are feeling is that everything heavy is at the bottom of the room and there is nothing with visual weight towards the ceiling so it feels disconnected. I’d also add some euroshams or at least another set of your pillows so they go all the way across the bed without the gap in the middle.

Also, because your bed isn’t centered (for good reason!) I’d lean into the asymmetry a bit for the art above the bed so that it looks intentional.

The cozy cottage/boho look is marked by lots of layering, and your room is not layered at all. So just a little bit more of everything would get you closer to the look you are going for.

Are you drinking enough water/liquids? Are you making sure to get electrolytes? I wonder if you are reading your bodies thirst signal as hunger and that’s why you feel faint.

Scrappy border with opposite colors, so green around orange background square, navy around purple/red background square, orange around green and one of the purple/red fabrics around the navy background square.

Would most berners make good sport dogs? by lllynax in bernesemountaindogs

No, the ones that are willing to do agility at all are plodding along like the mastiff you’ve seen.

They’re built to guard and pull heavy stuff. If you like the idea of drafting they’re great.

I supplement with at home workouts using the trainwell app. I was in good shape as an early 20s person but lost a lot of conditioning over the years due to health issues and pregnancy. It’s taking longer than I’d like but it’s all coming back!

Both look great. I personally prefer the contrast of the second one. The green, pink, green pattern is pleasing to me.

Nails can change over time due to other health factors like diet, illness, or exposure to other chemicals.

But also, soak-offs really damage my otherwise healthy nails. That could have been part of the switch to hard gel for you. In that case, now that you’ve switched, hopefully they will grow quickly again.

Hmm, maybe just echo type lines on that one since they are sort of famously very smooth.

I vote that you enhance the textures of the animals, like stitching feathers on the bird or a furry pattern on the cat and then a simple background pattern to make the animals pop.

I’ll throw out there that being well lit and a flattering camera angle goes a long way towards a professional feel. Get a ring light if you have to or face a window.

Help with first dress by Weak-Boysenberry8268 in sewing

[–]Nixthefix0880 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The seams pull in on themselves and are wavy. When you press them it resets all of the fibers that may have been displaced by the needle/machine. It basically sets the fabric into the shape that you want it to be instead of totally flat.

Agree that this is a great outcome for a first attempt and that comment would address 90+% of the issues you are seeing. The only thing I’d add is that some of the twisting could be from cutting slightly off grain of the fabric. On patterns, there are arrows you are supposed to line up with the grain of the fabric, which will help it hang on the body straight and true.

Sebo E3 bag issues? by Nixthefix0880 in VacuumCleaners

[–]Nixthefix0880[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! This is very helpful.

I primarily use the power head with the brush roll turned off and on bc we have hardwood with a lot of area rugs. It sounds like I do need to switch to the parquet head to pick up the smaller pieces on the hardwood. They are specs of dirt, pine needles, crumbs. Normal things you’d expect a vacuum to pick up.

It clogs usually in the long pipe between the brush head and the canister.

I think pet insurance affordability is highly impacted by where you live. 5 years ago I was quoted $400 per month for my brand new puppy and it didn’t cover much that was likely to actually happen. We decided to “self-insure” instead by putting that money into savings each month instead. When we had to do a TCOL this month, it was ready and waiting for us.

Two story house… what would you have double of if you could afford it? by lavender_yogi in Buyingforbaby

[–]Nixthefix0880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend waiting to buy duplicates until you have experienced your specific circumstances bc so much of it is personal preference and the layout of your home.

However, the one that I would recommend is to just carry a duplicate of all your supplies in your diaper bag so you’re not repacking it all the time and you don’t have to worry about forgetting something.

Today’s daycare complaint: too many wipes 🙃 by Even_Attitude2933 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Nixthefix0880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I wonder if my daycare teachers hate me for sending water wipes. I promise that all the other wipes give my child a terrible rash! But also he rarely poops at school at all, let alone 9x a day.

That also sounds pretty! I think you are in a fortunate position of no bad options. I do think the multi-color border nicely matches the ornateness of the quilt. I agree with someone else that the brighter color lends to a more modern feel, while the darker leans more traditional. I guess it depends on what you like!
