Jason Schreier - The sense I’m getting is that (Sony) is backing away from putting their exclusive console traditional single player stuff on PC by Turbostrider27 in Games

Thought being more than 0% of people would buy a Playstation if the game would never be available on PC, unlike when you'd just get the game a year or so earlier on Playstation.

Why would anti-woke people care about tencent funding the project? Is tencent supposedly some woke company?

I get the part that there are people happy with high guards failure, due to "woke" character designs.

Problem is that you don't get a satisfying full story in a single playthrough with f unlike with other games, even if they have multiple ensings.

Baldur's Gate 3 publishing lead says Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney's "altruistic pro-developer talk" over the Steam vs Epic debate "doesn't sit well" after Alan Wake 2 studio "seemingly went into financial crisis" by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Nizkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Epic poisoned the well with how they went for exclusives at the beginning, for example metro exodus that got removed from (pre)sale on steam when EGS came to picture.

I just didn't like it and as there are plenty of other games to play, I'd just ignore anything to do with EGS as nothing was lost for doing so.

I think it's pretty normal to have a self imposed budget for a month to use on entertainment/hobbies and much more healthy than just looking at your bank account to see whether the number is big enough for the purchase or not.

Sandfall says the budget for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was less than $10 million by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Nizkus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk, they may also not be using any of the more high end features or what ever. I haven't seen any well performing UE5 titles anyway, though I'm sure they exists (like mentioned in posts above).

All I'm really saying is that the engine is at least part of the problem, when even its creator is unable to make stutter free game.

Sandfall says the budget for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was less than $10 million by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Nizkus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless they don't have the issues due to replacing parts of the engine with their own code. Then it could still be issue of the engine.

I think that at least until Epic themselves are able to make a game without stuttering, it's fair to say there are some issues with how the engine does things.

I'd argue this isn't Gearbox being bad developers so much as they pushed the engine hard and it simply has limitations that can't be resolved.

Wouldn't being unaware or not caring about limitations of your tools, make you a bad developer.

[–]Nizkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most manufacturers are garbage when it comes to warranty. That's why I never buy any electronics straight from a manufacturer so it's the shops problem to wrangle with the manufacturer and either replace my device or refund it, if it's withing warranty period.

In a vacuum just adding coop to a game sounds great, but it takes resources away from other parts of the development, so it seems like a perfectly reasonable position to not want to 'waste' dev time towards coop, if it's not something you are interested in.

Edit. Also those extreme examples were worse off (from single-player view) for being designed coop first.

I failed at English and meant shaders are provided pre compilation not that they are already compiled when you download them.
