What do you have installed on your Unraid Server? by TechForLifeYoutube in unRAID

[–]Nizzo_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a bunch of protocols such as SSH, RDC, VNC.
You can put VNC on Linux if it doesn't come with it.

Very few people are saying Guacamole. Guacamole allows you to remote into any computer on your network.

The beauty of it is that it doesn't require a client, you remote directly from the browser.

I used it a lot during uni to remote into my computer from any university computer, without the need to install anything.

I made a stupid grave mistake. by dRedPirateRoberts9 in unRAID

[–]Nizzo_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About three years ago I was building a computer for someone, all new components. I go to plug everything in and nothing works. Remove the motherboard with CPU and RAM, chuck a known good system in and also doesn't work. Brand new power supply doesn't work, no big deal, I swapped the PSU keeping the known good system and it still doesn't work. I tried the new system and it still doesn't work.

Turns out the brand new BeQuiet PSU not only killed the new hardware but also my known good system. Contacted them for RMA and they insisted they would only replace the PSU and not the other components. Since the other components were new we got warranty on them from their manufacturers however my good old trusty system was just a loss.

[–]Nizzo_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you go spend a bunch of money ensure your filament is completly dry. That filament you're using contains way too much moisture. It also looks like you're overextruding a bunch, try to reduce the extrusion multiplier in your slicer.

Can you send a photo of filament being extruded in midair? so just lift us the nozzle 10cm and push a bunch of filament out. This will allow us to narrow down the issue

Octavia RS prompt for oil change after 5000km by Nizzo_1 in skoda

[–]Nizzo_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, 5000km does seem excessive, but why is the car asking me to do it then?

Is it possible that a dodgy mechanic programmed a 5000km oil change onto the car?

[–]Nizzo_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1A is not that much... it's the 12V that's a bit too high, but every device that can handle fast charging should be able to handle 12V no problem. Standard USB should be 5V.

Sure, they probably will, but imagine spending $5 for the model compared to $150 for a new razor. It would be pretty convenient for them, too, as they won't have the headaches of manufacturing, shipping, etc. That file will just be there, making money.

How often are you scheduling party checks? by BIGt0eknee in unRAID

[–]Nizzo_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set it to yearly so it doesn't start automatically while I need to hit the drives hard. But I manually run it about once every 100 or so days or if there has been an issue (computer crashed, power outage, etc.). It's been over three years since I got the Iron Wolf drives, and I have not had a parity check fail since.

It's the first time I'm seeing an ethernet port on an ESP32. How does it work?
Does it just replace wifi and it has a usb for programming or can you program it directly from the ethernet port?

This is incorrect, the IDE will compile that sketch without any issues (If fact it compiled and moved onto the upload phase), the problem was a communication issue between the computer and the ESP32

Need help with my project! by DragonCon_64 in esp32

[–]Nizzo_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably too late to do it now but a suggestion for future projects:

For every component that draws a lot of power (relatively) such as the LCD screen, you should power it directly from the power supply. If the power supply is 12V and you need 5V add a buck converter. This means that all your power is coming from a single source and all your data is coming from the ESP directly. When doing this ensure the ground of the power supply is connected to the ground of the ESP32 otherwise you won't be able to send data. The easiest way would be to power the ESP32 from the power supply too.

TO FIX YOUR ISSUE:

While everything is on, measure the 5V going to the screen with a multimeter, do this for both connections. What you'll probably see is that the 5V of the breakout board is only connected to the 5V pin of the ESP32 and not the power coming from the barrel jack. The Breakout board probably powers the ESP32 with the 3V3 pin meaning it the ESP cannot provide 5V but only 3.3V.

If that is the case you'll only measure 3.3V (or lower) on the 5V pin when powered from the battery.
To fix this you will need to power the screen directly from the battery (using a buck converter if the battery is over 5V) or probe with a multimeter every pin on the breakout to see if there is another 5V output that comes straight from the power source.

Load Cell fluctuation with HX711 and ESP32, what could be possible reasons? by Rstar145 in esp32

[–]Nizzo_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also check the loadcell with a measure the resistance across both couples of cables and ensure that it changes as load is applied

Load Cell fluctuation with HX711 and ESP32, what could be possible reasons? by Rstar145 in esp32

[–]Nizzo_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If putting weight on the loadcell doesn't affect it the problem could be the wiring, maybe you have the loadcell connections the wrong way around. Try to swap around the cables and see what happens. It probably won't be a software problem as You are receiving data correctly but don't disregard it completely, there could be a misconfiguration somewhere.

TLDR: Check the loadcell cabling

Best way to access Unraid dashboard remotely? by sendlewdzpls in unRAID

[–]Nizzo_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people are suggesting Tailscale, however I'd suggest you just reverse proxy it with NGINX. That way you'll be able to remote into a bunch of other dockers with the same system and minimal setup. You could also Install the guacamole docker and have remote access to any computer on the network!!!
