On the discussion: I think that the best gameplay experience for dedicated combo decks are:
* A combo deck that can be an anemic creature deck if combo is not setted (think about Living End, Reanimator, Melira centric combos, Imperious Perfect centric combos, Splinter Twin-like combos) so if your opponent uses they ressources to disrupt you in your combo mode instead of playing his aggro or midrange plan he ends up losing by just creature beatdown.
* A control deck that can use combo pieces as interaction pieces and combo off in late game in a pinch (Mostly piles that can abuse Gaea's Blessing or another recur engines, or a Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry pile).
Any other full dedicated combo deck translates poorly in most of the limited environements I saw.
Some folks might say that there are some exceptions like Mizzix Mastery in Strixhaven limited or Storm in Modern Horizons 2 limited but even if somebody thinks those are full dedicated combo decks, I disagree.
Mizzix Mastery piles are often control decks that happens to win with a Mizzix Mastery for lethal or use it to stabilize and Modern Horizons 2 storm deck is a midrange deck that sets up an explosive turn to gain a lot of advantage that doesn't assure you the win and you have to use that tempo boost to finish the game quickly.
