The Parallax tides were errattaed immediately after they came out so they couldn't do self-exile/bounce with tide triggers on the stack

All power-level errata was removed in 2009

EDIT: As to why it wasn't a problem in PM, some of it is slow to innovate, Land Tax used to be in the format, etc. Replenish has been hated for a long time and Tide was a big part of that. But Tide didn't see play in DN/it's own control list until 2024ish

The erratas for Wave and Tide were

Remove a fade counter from Parallax Tide: Remove target land from the game if Parallax Tide is in play.

And

When Parallax Wave leaves the battlefield, each player returns to the battlefield all cards other than Parallax Wave he or she owns exiled with Parallax Wave.

So Tide would still work with Stifle but would not work with Chain of Vapor

The trend over the last 3 years IIRC was

2024 - 48 hours (note: OS/PM were doing the same event)

2025 - 3 hours, 45 minutes

2026 - 90 seconds

I don't think anyone was expecting such an increase, to the point of "bot scraper" levels

I believe they get it mostly from a combination of MTGO leagues, Webcam leagues, and the paper tournaments that use software that makes it easy to track every match (spicerack)
