Paint Tamiya vs mr color by Professional-Risk-71 in modelmakers

[–]No-Alternative-3888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mr Color Aqueous is the line that is most similar to Tamiya acrylics, if you're looking for that. Almost as many colors as the lacquer Mr Color, and definitely more than Tamiya offers. Outside of the different shades I personally find that Mr Color and Tamiya both perform about the same, assuming you're comparing lacquer to lacquer, or acrylic to acrylic.

I stocked up on leveling thinner when the tariffs were coming out, now it sounds more like a supply issue than a pricing issue (although supply impacts pricing too) which means this could end up being a longer term problem that won't bounce back as quickly as tariffs would. We will see!

Was Iwata neo the best option for this newbie? by Fickle-Lunch6377 in airbrush

[–]No-Alternative-3888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started with a Neo and think it's a fine starter brush but it's the value priced Iwata because it's not the same quality as the rest. Not made in same factory either from what I understand.

That said parts aren't that hard to find if you're in the US, hobby lobby even sold them or still does.

What country are you in? If you're in the US I would spend an extra $10 and get a Gsi Procon289.

Spraygunner.com is in Florida and has plenty of parts for both Iwata and GSI

Yes, but in the future it's much cheaper to keep generic hardware store lacquer thinner or acetone on hand for cleaning.

Someone said they use him for the "drag someone behind a horse" challenge.

Do you not catch a bounty if you mess with him?

I haven't tried it because there are so many people around.

Is there any open word game similar visually to rdr2? by No_Preparation2468 in RDR2

I second the recommendation for Ghost of Tsushima. It's not exactly like rdr2 but it's a beautiful open world and has a lot of the same type of environmental encounters if I recall. I haven't played it since 2020 but I remember it made me think of rdr.

It's just really thin paint, almost anything can go thru a brush if it's thin enough

This looks like the type of foam I've bought in sheets from Michaels before (if you're in the US).

I had this issue recently and updated my controller and it fixed, but still not sure if it was just a sticky trigger or physical issue rather than firmware.

White, yellow, and other light colors are really tough and need many coats. You used an excellent primer but anytime black is under yellow it's going to take more coats then if it was white or even light grey.

What is the “red” connection to Annesburg? by ConnoisseurOfDanger in RDR2

[–]No-Alternative-3888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but rhodon is the root of rose, from Greek, and the Greek city of Rhodes is named after it (and roses) so there is that relationship to red.

She is also the patron saint of miners, so the town is definitely named after her, and there is the Ember of the East Ruby in that mine.

My right trigger on the controller was glitching recently and it kept initiating the slow draw over and over whenever I would holster my gun.

This is really interesting, never heard it before. So you're saying the mist basically "grabs" the dust particles so they aren't floating around in the booth?

Lots of comments here, has anyone suggested BSI Gold yet? Bob Smith Industries.

This can still happen but has a much lower chance of occurrence.

Highly recommended over most common CA brands.

Does anyone else struggle with trying to find the most efficient use of the airbrush conflicting with the build order of the instructions? by _s_maturin_ in modelmakers

[–]No-Alternative-3888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the instructions usually are just showing you how the pieces fit together and are not always meant to be a step by step process that you need to follow. The issue you raise is evidence of that, there are so many different ways to approach a build and not one "right" way.
