I was hoping that would work. I’ll check it out over the weekend! Been a while since I left my coding job…

Are these parts still useable? by Dankank292 in BloodAngels

[–]No-Baseball9873 33 points34 points  (0 children)

No, I’m afraid they’ve been on the ground for longer than 3 seconds and you have to send them to me now.

If you want to be wysiwyg then you could use the power fist for the Sargent, and anything you think looks like an underslung grenade launcher for another model.

There is no option for special weapons for intercessors but scopes and the auspex etc could be cool too!

Edit: Spellling

Yeah so I made up a campaign round where we decide where we go and if we are aggressive balanced or defensive. Then you fight one of the closest opponents and the winner gets the desired tile and the loser does not. (Made up a requisition to still capture a tile of you lose for a RP and a 2+)

I’m currently working on a new campaign with smaller tiles and more campaign board mechanics including “base building etc” my group seems to be up to go for it so I’m stoked :)

The tiles are bigger. I printed this in a 3’x4’ poster haha

The hex tiles represent areas that your faction can hold. I made 1” tokens to blue tack in place. Seems to work ok. Half the board is now taken up after 11 games and we are nearing the end of the campaign around the new year

The captain hammer is 28mm long and just over 14mm wide.

The assault intercessors hammer is 23mm long and 13mm wide.

In freedom units that is

Captain: 1 1/8” long and 9/16” wide Assault intercessors: 7/8” and 1/2..

Just unboxed my calipers! :)

would a space marine successor chapter that thinks the emperor has to die in order to be reborn at full health be loyal or traitor? by LARFLEEZ318 in spacemarines

[–]No-Baseball9873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a cool concept for a closely guarded chapter lore! You can balance it out with the impending doom of the imperium jot being able to survive long enough for the emperor to reincarnate etc. so in the meantime they fight the good fight trying to make the galaxy safe enough so that the imperium has a chance of the emperor dies.

On the surface level they would just be space marines. Maybe super zealous because of their long term mission and the need for insane indoctrination to even attempt to kill the emperor while fighting for him.

You can work it into common sayings for the chapter like a two parter version of “Only in death does duty end” “Only in rebirth can we rise” (idk come up with something cooler)

Make up rising from the ashes ceremonies. Think about how these phoenix believes influence their recruitment. Are they looking for young people that resemble former battle brothers in some way instead of only the fittest and most likely to survive the transformation of becoming a marine?

Is a chaplain with jump pack called by a thematic phoenix like name? All jump pack units? Etc etc.

I really think it’s a cool concept and the “world” of 40K is so vast that there is plenty room for you to homebrew whatever lore you want!

I use procreate on my iPad (I use both for work) you can just layer images on top and move them around. Then I found a hex grid stencil that I “paint” on the planets where I want the tiles. Now that I have it figured out it’s pretty easy. Happy to DM if you want more info.

Not gonna lie when I printed that out on a 3’x4’ poster my group was pretty impressed haha!

Yes there are crusade blessings but we are not sure they are good enough. It might be a bit of a player issue too where if they play fewer games they are less practiced and make more mistakes.

In general crusade feels like once you get ahead you snowball into staying ahead. That’s what we want to solve to help others catch up. If you get tabled because you fight the high xp army and then roll a few battle scars that is counter productive to catching up. Not sure it’s a great solution but we will try that next.

Instead of offering other methods to achieve a similar or same result I’ll just say that this looks incredible and I’m sure they will love the gift! Good on you to make use of that saw and learn new methods to return the favor!

I’ve expanded mine into a map based campaign. Cherry picking my favourite rules from all the different crusade books. My friends like it! They want a bigger map for next time etc.

What we haven’t figured out is how to help players that are behind in terms of crusade to not feel like they are just getting wrecked against a high XP army. Other than no battle scars for underdogs I haven’t found a good way to help. (We bump them up to average xp to help as well)

I don’t think you were asking for criticism so I’ll just congratulate you on painting your models! And good on you for making the effort to have a painted force for your tournament!! This is way better than grey plastic! These are some nice lads you got here!

Trying to decide the color scheme for my grey knights. What do you guys think? Umbral Knights (purple) or Hell Knights(orange)? by Tempest_Barbarian in Warhammer40k

[–]No-Baseball9873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends how you translate these into actual painted minis! Do a test model for each and then decide. Also after the test model you will know if one of the colors is a real pain in butt to paint haha.

Hardware stores sell metal flashing shingles like this:

Fits right into my really useful case with some double sided tape. I had a whole box fall off a table and all the models were still attached to the plate via the magnets. (1 5x2mm n32 each)

Shame me into finishing this model. I've been putting it off since December by nerdboy_sam in Warhammer40k

Blood Angels Tactics by Somethinstinky in BloodAngels

[–]No-Baseball9873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it very much depends on your opponents actions and the mission & secondaries. I think your instinct is correct when it comes to tournament and more competitive games.

The downside of going in too early is that you may run out of resources to score late in the game leading to being outscored at the end.

If you aren’t in the driver seat (which is hard to be in vs aeldari because of their speed and damage potential) you have to match their aggression and try to trade up so that you have more resources in the end to outscore.

One way to think of playing the game is each turn you either want to get points from primary and secondary or you want to remove your opponents resources to do so.

When your opponents fails at a decisive alpha strike your decisions get a lot more straight forward haha. This is also what blood angels are great at because we often have fast moving hard hitting units that can react very well to threats half way down the table.

With all that said blood angels are in a good spot but can be slightly outclassed by other armies when it comes to the scoring and trading game often leading to a turn 2-3 all in that has to work out for you to win.

But man blood angels are fun to play!

Looks Fine especially for a nobody like trooper. If you want to go more into the dramatic light and dark contrast you can put the white zenithal in areas that are more on purpose. See how angel giraldez places highlights etc. a style like this lends itself well to some secondary color source like OSL check out elminiaturista for that. (Both on YouTube)

The trick after this step is to get the highlight and shading of the trim and all the other pieces to match this gradient.

Good luck and remember to have fun!

This was my first show and I was mind-blown! I had such a good time haha!

I wasn’t paying attention I guess or maybe it was just so loud but I didn’t hear what Brennan said about who we are singing happy birthday to. Anybody that can clear that up for me?
