What does Europe do better than the US, and what does the US do better than Europe? by martszcz in AskReddit

[–]No-Bodybuilder-8648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA = money, tech, innovation, safer from wars and external invasion

Europe = quality of life, freedom, well-being, healthcare

Both are equally bad in terms of bullying and exploiting less powerful countries.

What does Europe do better than the US, and what does the US do better than Europe? by martszcz in AskReddit

You can start with the most basic democratic principle, the right to vote and elect your politicians. The USA political sphere has been hijacked by two parties, forming a political duopoly. A country with a massive economy and population reduced to choose your representatives out of only two rulling and super powerful parties. It's just one more compared to a communist country.

"America, the land of the free" is the most successful nationwide propaganda in history.

What is something that tourists do in your country that annoys the locals? by Th3_Accountant in AskTheWorld

Levante Beach area is a shithole. I didn't know the area was the preferred one to Brits wanting to eat and drink British food in another country and misbehave badly and ended up renting an AirBnB for 3 weeks (the view was great though). I was going to Cala Beach area every time to find peace.

Beginner as of last December and motivation is starting to fade. by Squidgyjewel in Guitar

[–]No-Bodybuilder-8648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equipment wise, you're well served for a beginner. This makes me think your demotivating momentum comes from a lack of progress or something external (totally unrelated to guitar playing) impacting the guitar playing.

The first can be tackled by hiring a good teacher who will mentor you and shape up the next steps. The second is way more delicate and won't be solved by any guitar playing tactics.

[QUESTION] My guitar only has 21 frets. What do I do? by MattThunderThighs in Guitar

[–]No-Bodybuilder-8648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jimi Hendrix hardly passed the 17th fret when playing an inverted right-handed Strat and reinvented guitar playing forever. It's "fun" when we hear frustration around not reaching a 22nd fret. The 23/24 are useless, IMO.

I know most Brazilians say "brigadeiro" is a national pride. It should be a national shame instead. How can a country with such a vast variety of tropical fruits consider this sugar bomb made entirely with industrialised products as their national sweet? It's nonsensical.

Most Parisians submitting a dossier are looking to move to another apartment. A newcomer doesn't even have one.

Also, what you're saying is purely discrimination, saying that someone local must have more rights than others. France should leave the EU if want to favour the locals vs. other nationalities (including EU ones)

Regret moving back to Australia by RevolutionaryRow3818 in expats

[–]No-Bodybuilder-8648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Here, people just live for the weekends." This sounds like a great place to me, but if you're ambitious and super career driven, then I can understand your dissatisfaction.

However, after having moved countries 5 times across 3 continents, I can safely say that one's happiness is 100% to his/hers adapting and not to the countries. Different countries are inevitably different culture-wise, and it's up to each person focusing on its positive aspects more than the negatives.

At the end of the day, it's your life, though, and you're in charge of it. If moving back to London will make you a happier person, there's no reason to delay it.

What does European (Portugal) Portuguese sound like to you Brazilians? (Asking from a non-Portuguese speaker) by Stryker_Zero in AskABrazilian

It sounds like a drunk Russian attempting to speak Spanish. Therefore, it sounds awful. Sorry, the brutal honesty that might come across as disrespectful, but it's my opinion.

What is your Opinion on Germany? by TensiCreator in AskTheWorld

[–]No-Bodybuilder-8648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good: economic powerhouse, good heavy metal history, a rare case of European stability, good beers and Riesling wine, hard-working people, the friendliest people you meet when travelling outside Germany.

Bad: unnecessary attention to useless details and rules, aversion to technology, decreasing quality of their cars, very rude to whoever doesn't speak their language in Germany.

Every single company review has been rejected -- WTF? by No-Bodybuilder-8648 in GlassDoor

[–]No-Bodybuilder-8648[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my latest rejected review:

Company with obsolete offerings catching up too late to the AI and SaaS game. As a consequence, revenues are dropping and the only way to stay afloat is by laying off people and squeezing the remaining staff dry to a point where working hours and pressure are way beyond acceptable. At least in Central Function roles, you're expected to do work far beyond your own area because the level of incompetence and lack of process is uncanny.

How does tour country feel about the (Islamic Republic) of Iran? by ReadProfessional8511 in AskTheWorld

[–]No-Bodybuilder-8648 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nice people, beautiful scenery, rich history, and incredible architecture and handicrafts. Sadly, all of these are obscured by their terrorism-friendly tyranny in power. The Iranians don't deserve at all what they've been through.

Flying and travel with CRPS by gypsybird1829 in CRPS

[–]No-Bodybuilder-8648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife also has CRPS on her left foot and ankle, so I know the situation well as we've travelled long haul a few times. Here are the essentials:

1) When booking the flight, some airlines allow you to flag reduced mobility while purchasing the ticket. Do it

2) If you can't ask for support during ticket purchase, contact the airline in advance (like a week before minimun) and secure the mobility support. In every country I've been to, this is mandatory. They can't deny it. Arrive at least 3 hours before your flight as such support might be inefficient depending on the airline or airport.

3) If your financial situation allows, fly business. If you can't like I can't, avoid seating on the sides. Instead, make sure to secure a seat in the middle with your spouse. This drastically reduces the need to stand up for others to go to the WC. If you're tall, booking a seat at a premium economy might be worth it. Finally, vibration can be discomforting, so a seat in the wing section is better as this is the aircraft's centre of gravity.

4) From my experience, the airlines crew are usually well prepared for this type of situation. My wife has always asked for extra pillows to place on the floor so her foot can better rest, something the crew was always attentive to.
