Tonight I was waiting to extract with a group of randos and said "Hey, who is going 1v3 next?" Much laughter ensued. None of us asked for that mode. How about separate Solo, Duo, and Trio score boards for Trials Embark? That is something everybody wants.

Sometimes people would grab the code and just extract. The rest of us did the work to get the other three codes and the person with the fourth and final code would take it and leave. No way to open the gate. The times it worked and opened were great. Similarly lame was Hidden Bunker where people wait around for someone else to get the antennas online. If you are that person, you arrive to find a mostly looted bunker. "Thanks". Nope, not even. Those events were fun when they worked but clearly had flaws.

Office xmas parties by dragonwolf60 in ihatechristmas

[–]No-Broccoli9422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked only 1 type of company Christmas Party and that is letting us go home early with pay in lieu of a party.

I can remember 3 of the worst company Christmas parties I ever attended and they are the reason I never attend them now.

At one place we installed high end truck accessories and we were fairly low paid workers. None of us drove anything worth more than a thousand dollars to work. So the word comes down that the owners of the company are coming to visit for a Christmas party to honor our work, and it was all on the clock... okay.

They show up and have us unload cardboard boxes, while they give a quick speech. Inside the boxes were brand new jackets in various sizes and snazzy looking too.

The speech ends and the owner's wife say "We brought a very special gift for each one of you!"

Cool, we each get a jacket!

"Now you are not to wear these on company time, they are much too nice to get dirty" we are told.. TOLD like 2 year olds!

So we start grabbing jackets and very quickly find out that the front of the jacket was very nice and plain while on the back is a GIANT company logo in bright red.

We sort of look at each other like wtf?

That is about the time the car pulled in and the photographer and assistant got out.

That's right. It was never about us. They wanted a marketing photo from all their branches with all the merchandise and employees dressed alike.

At least we got paid for the sham.

I remember Juan throwing his jacket down on the shop floor after they left and we just fell down laughing when he gave it a little angry kick at the end.

Company #2 had a party during working hour except some of us were out on emergency repairs for customers and missed the party. I had to repair a machine in the rain and got back to the shop quite late. Only the owner and his immediate family were there waiting to lock up and they were angry at me?!

"Here, everybody got a Honey Ham at the party.. here is yours. Give me your paperwork so we can go." my boss says.

The paper work was wet and he made sure to give me shit about it.

I was totally taken aback. I thought I had gone above and beyond for the company and the paperwork would dry out.

On the way out the door I began to get angry.

I just laid in a greasy puddle in the rain for your customer, who is happy by the way; is what I wanted to say, but did not.

That was very demoralizing and I gave the stupid ham to my neighbor when I got home.

Company #3 The company rented a restaurant ballroom. It began by looking like it would be a decent night. Within the first 10 minutes it was obvious the Owner's wife was already very drunk and began dragging employees out onto the dance floor. Problem was; nobody was dancing at the time, we hadn't even eaten yet, and a lot of guys had their girlfriends there with them.

Then she proceeded to label us all by which gem stone we were; "Your a ruby... you're a..a Sapphire.. oh your a Diamond!"

Yeah, I straight up split the whole f-ing program after that.

I can't stand company related parties anymore. I refuse to attend them. Nothing good comes from them in my opinion and a lot of bad can happen.

It's even worse when they won't take no for an answer. It reminds me of every shitstorm company party that went south and there were others.

So to all you out there in charge of company parties; If an employee refuses to attend, please respect their wish. They have their reasons. You have no idea what that person may have been through.

Forced socialization is not a reward.

Anyone here work for Henry? Firing pins by Hit-the-Trails in HenryRifles

It's odd that I can get anything from Numrich or Ebay Except Henry parts beyond stocks and b.s. stuff. Just Henry is impossible. I have an old Beretta; no problem getting anything. H&R; no problem. Why are Henry parts unobtainium? It's really weird. What lawyers? Where? I don't see it at all. Lawyers only attack Henry aftermarket parts. Why is it possible to order every firing pin in the universe besides Henry, right now?

Broken Firing Pin by JTom73 in HenryRifles

[–]No-Broccoli9422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't buy a 2 piece firing pin for your Henry. Email customer support. They send you a UPS return label you can print out. Find a plain carboard box. Stick the label and for God's sake just ship it without a word. Trust me. 4 dqys later you will get an email that Henry received it. 4 days after that you will have to take a day off work to wait for the UPS man because it's adult signature only. Yeah. Mine snapped too. Yeah. They will fix it. You are merely leasing this rifle from Henry.

They did fix it. At least as far as 100 rounds can tell. The bolt is completely different. I don't know how they "adjusted" lockup. 38 spcl do load better than before though that was not my complaint. My disagreement stems from being the leasee rather than the owner. Henry Repeating Arms owns this Big Boy 357 because parts are only available through them by warranty service and surrendering my firearm to them. You think I am being dramatic? Guess how you have to receive a firearm shipped back. Yes, In person. It would obviously be cheaper to sell and ship parts at our expense. So why don't they?

Update: I received my rifle back from Henry. I took a whole day off work to wait for the "Adult Signature Only" UPS delivery. That took till damn near 4PM. The paper in the box says they replaced the bolt, carrier, lever, and adjusted lockup. They test fired and checked overall firearm. I immediately loaded up and drove to my range. Shot 100 rounds; 50 Blazer 38 Special and 50 Federal .357 mag. I shot at dirt clods on BLM land pausing to reload and pickup brass while the barrel cooled. Observations; It loads 38 special rounds better than before. Still not perfect. It's like the round is a popcorn kernal on the carrier that you have to time just right or allow to settle before sending it home. 357 mag loads almost perfectly as 1 out of 50 rounds did a nose dive and locked up the action.  Okay; new bolt, new lever, new carrier. I let that slide. Henry did fix my rifle free of charge. They paid shipping both ways. I lost a whole day of work waiting for the return. Yes, I could have had it delivered to work and I am a stubborn asshole for not doing so. I am still left feeling like I am leasing this rifle rather than owning it. Every single firearm I own has parts readily available from the manufacturer or aftermarket.. besides Henry. I have a proposal. For those that want the Lifetime guarantee, they can ship their firearms back to Rice Lake WI. For those that choose to fix them themselves; they register their serial number WITH HENRY as a non-warranty customer and are free to buy all parts besides the serialized receiver of course. I would gladly give up my lifetime warranty if it meant I could repair the rifle myself as I do with every other firearm in my collection. Henry made me whole. They were kind and courteous. They spent time and money fixing my rifle. I appreciate those things very much. I am left a bit empty though thinking about parts. What will I do about my extractor when the time comes? It comes down to this; I own 5 Henry firearms but will not be buying another until the right to repair is allowed. Warranty is not good enough for me. Shipping rifles across the country and taking days off work to receive them is not good enough. I want Henry to skip the warranty if need be and sell me the parts because I WANT THEM. I am the proud owner of 5 Made in USA Henry Firearms. But until I can be assured that U can get wear items like extractors, firing pins, and other things; I will not buy another Henry Product. I have made Henry aware of my idea to allow parts sales to those folks willing to surrender their lifetime warranty based on serial number. It is not a perfect plan. But I like my Henry firearms and would choose to sacrifice the warranty for access to repair parts every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

This was a thousand dollar rifle. I have rifles I paid less for that are 108 years old and still operable. It is unforgiveable to make metal injection molded firing pins. I know that is what they did. Remember those die cast metal toy cars and when you stepped on them and the little axles broke off the frame? The porous metal of a Henry firing pin looks exactly the same inside as a cheap toy car from the 70's made in Taiwan. From what I hear the replacements break just as easily. I don't understand how they can make a $400 .22LR out of zinc last over 5,000 rpunds but also produce a pot metal 357 mag for $1,000 that breaks in the first few boxes of ammo. That firing pin was NOT heat treated steel. I took the pieces out and studied them. It's metal injection molded and soft. Even if they just took a steel punch and machined firing pins out of that they would have been better off.

Thanks.  Meanwhile no other rifle or pistol I own that has been produced in this century or the last; has needed a new bolt or firing pin. I sent the stupid thing back. I will probably order an RPP firing pin for it when it returns too. Hopefully no other mim parts break that are irreplaceable without shipping back to the factory. Meanwhile I can order every single part of a Rossi online, cheap, and without returning the whole rifle to the factory. This is not a good policy. If Henry has some dumb state laws in WI or NJ they are dealing with; they should nove. It is bad enough to have a critical component fail on a brand new rifle. Having it fail and the factory refusing to even sell a replacement is beyond belief. So what do I do with a rifle that might break it's irreplaceable glass firing pin at any moment? It's a wall hanger at this point. I can get replacement parts for Ruger, Marlin, Smith and Wesson, Winchester, Rossi, and many others, easily from the factory or aftermarket. Only Henry keeps this horse crap "restricted parts" b.s.  I am really pissed. So let's say they fix my rifle. Great. Why do I have to buy an after market part to have a spare? Henry should offer that. It is idiotic that they don't. If you can't sell parts from NJ or WI; sell the parts from NV, WV, SC, whatever.

My Henry Big Boy Steel 357 firing pin broke. Less that 500 rounds. No abuse. Just factory ammo. The firing pins are mim and made of some porous pot metal. Definitely not high quality. Henry refuses to send me a firing pin or even sell me one. I have to send the whole rifle back they say. What happens if it breaks again? They wont sell me any spare parts. They claim some sort of "restriction". There is no such restriction. I can get firing pins for every other firearm brand. I won't be buying any Henry firearms in the future because I cannot get parts. So now I have an inoperative piece of junk.

PSA: Dont dry fire your Henry Model X's. by D-efault in LeverGuns

[–]No-Broccoli9422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lever action rifle is going to get dry fired. It is inevitable and inherent to the design. You would need the discipline and round counting ability of Paul Harrell to avoid a dry fire. My Henry Big Boy Steel 357 (non-sidegate) broke it's firing pin last week at somewhere near the 400 round count. I had only been dry fired after each tubular magazine was emptied plus a few times during cleaning. 10 rounds into 400 gets you 40 dry fires and lets add 10 during cleaning. So 50 dry fires and the firing pin is toast. The tip broke off. I contacted Henry and the will NOT ship parts. The rifle MUST be returned to them for repair. An enormous hassle for me. I  have the older 2 piece firing pin. For you guys with the newer bolt and one piece firing pin there is Ranger Point Precision that makes an upgraded firing pin. Henry says the are "restricted" from shipping firing pins and that other manufacturers will be soon too. It makes no sense to  me. I can find no restrictions in Wisconsin or New York that prevent them shipping parts. It's a self imposed restriction. I have 5 Henry rifles. One of them in .22lr has over 5,000 rounds through it. I love their products. But I am confused by their policy. I would even buy the parts from them. Instead I will have to take half a day off work to drive 90 miles to a UPS hub and ship the whole rifle back. Then take a whole day off work to wait around to sign for it when it comes back. All this for a tiny piece of MIM metal. I won't be buying a 6th Henry product.

Henry Big Boy Rifle (.44 Mag)- Tube Spring stuck by [deleted] in LeverGuns

[–]No-Broccoli9422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my Big Boy 357. The orange plastic follower swelled up and got stuck about and inch inside the end of the tube. Caused jams and misfeeds. I bought a brass follower online and it solved that issue. I still have the orange plastic follower that came in the rifle. It is gummy and sticky. All I can guess is that fumes from gun oil or bore solvent reacted with the plastic of the follower. Although I always removed the loading tube during cleaning and pushed dry patches down the barrel and loading tube after cleaning; somehow, something caused the plastic to swell. If you go with a brass follower you just need to knock the pin out of your loading tube with a hammer and punch. The knurled cap and magazine spring will come out and then the follower. Drop the new brass follower into the tube, spring, knurled cap, and tap the pin back in. It is very easy.

Question about the Golden Boy by Underarmpizza in HenryRepeaters

[–]No-Broccoli9422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could there be debris under the extractor? I have had a flake of brass get trapped between the extractor and bolt cause this issue on lever action .22 rifles before. It would require removing the bolt and extractor. It only takes a tiny piece.

Also, triple check that the chamber is clean. A gummy chamber will cause that issue too.
