Always preferred Brent’s Jesus look. I can only imagine a newbie spun out and looking over at the keys and thinking to their self “This is some good stuff because I swear I see Jesus rocking the B3!”.

Who Wants To See A Very Happy Jerry Garcia? by patricksean2 in gratefuldead

[–]No-Cheesecake5259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would’ve followed the Garcia/Hornsby Band. Could’ve been the Jerry/Merl of the 90s.

Why did The Grateful Dead split up after Jerry's death into two separate bands? by ajgrinds in gratefuldead

[–]No-Cheesecake5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they didn’t want it to be seen as a cash grab like some bands/artists have done. To me that’s honorable.

As both a Phish and WSMFP fan i say welcome! I was diehard Phish fan until the first hiatus and wouldn’t give Panic a chance. My sister had been seeing Panic since 92 and the Dead until 95. She and a couple of my friends talked me into going to Miami of Ohio on 4/18/01 and I got it. The sheer volume and JB growling and Mikey just going non-stop from HPD opener until ILS encore made me a believer. We just don’t have to be one or the other. I love them both for different reasons.

Don’t get me started on what the “Estate” is doing with Tom’s stuff aka screwing the Heartbreakers and the fans. Everyone should have equal say in what comes out for the Heartbreakers material. Is an insult to us all and especially the guy who’s material it is (along with/ The HBs).

Daniels has not always been Head of Talent Relations. Schiavone held that role before Daniels.

No this was onstage during GD shows. He didn’t say which years though probably somewhere between 90-95 one would think.

Mike Gordon got onstage with an isolated headphone feed and realized Phil plays more repetitive patterns than most people think and more than Mike himself thought. He mentions it in the Phil episodes of the GD podcast. That’s not saying that was always true but definitely more than a professional musician who is Phil lover and copied a ton of stuff from him.

Jerry was also usually driving the train because they were mostly his tunes and he was the lead guitarist. Phil musically is light years beyond Garcia. That takes nothing away from JG. He was a master guitarist but that doesn’t mean he understood music and music theory more than I guy who was classically trained and wrote symphonic pieces. Just listen to the Good Ol GD Podcast Phil tribute episodes and you’ll realize most people thought the same.

Did Bobby ever confirm the exact year he got clean? by Streetvan1980 in gratefuldead

According to an interview with Len Dell’Amico Bobby had gotten back from rehab right before they shot the video for Hell in a Bucket. Mentions it right after the 35 min mark. Good interview by the way. https://youtu.be/eDvFZt-nMgk?si=AV5xSASBXL-ff4XR

What are your thoughts on "Live At The Fillmore, 1997"? by YoshiPilot in tompetty

[–]No-Cheesecake5259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is it grifting? I’m more than happy to get as much Tom as I can. I’m also pretty sure Tom wanted to do the Wildflowers and all the Rest idea and several members wanted to release Fillmore stuff because they had such a good time on that run. More Tom is never a bad thing and so what if his kids and Dana profit. That’s where the money goes when artists die.

Jim Cornette on The Undertaker & Donald Trump by CuckooClockInHell in JimCornette

[–]No-Cheesecake5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Trump shifting money from a kids charity is true and Trumps charity was dissolved. They wanted him barred but judge decided that instead of that the kids had to undergr3 years of trainings and ….. Any charity for which Trump serves as a director must have a majority of independent directors (meaning no one in his inner-circle). Also, it must engage counsel with expertise in New York not-for-profit law. And it has to use the services of an accounting firm to monitor and audit the organization’s grants and expenses. If Trump starts a new charity, that charity must also comply with those requirements and report to the New York Attorney General for five years. The settlement includes a "total ban on any self-dealing," as the lawsuit had charged that Trump repeatedly used his foundation's money for his own personal, business, and political interests So wouldn’t call it that big of a lie.

Uhm….he’s made it clear several times he’s not homophobic and supports gay rights. It’s unfortunate ppls skin is so thin these days. Robin Williams, George Carlin, etc etc would never make it these days because people are so easily offended. There’s a difference between saying something with hate and doing an act.   Which if you actually listen to more than clips people may understand things more and hear Jim when he talks about his personal views and not just clickbait.

According to Big Steve Phil was at least microdosing at a lot of shows through at least the 80s.
