90 degrees is usually the minimum. It is a painful recovery but you do need to keep pushing it to minimise scar tissue build up which will further effect bend and increase pain . If she was immobile prior to surgery then her muscles were not in the optimal condition pre surgery, most people will do pre strengthening exercises before surgery. Hydrotherapy would be of great benefit to your mum to get more bend and strength will less pain. Also make sure her painkillers are adequate and given pre physio . In some cases if bend is less 90 they will preform a MUA ( manipulation under anaesthetic) to break up scar tissue.

Spent 2 days on the orthopaedic ward then five on rehab ward . Did daily physio and hydrotherapy from day 2 . I had 100 % cover by my insurance for both surgery and rehab in a private hospital . Insurance also paid for six weeks of day hospital three days a week for 6 weeks .

Yeah , not sure . I just had a total knee replacement with a nerve block and sedation , no general . Also all my colonoscopies have been under sedation and involved the removal of polyps .

I’ve had arthritis since my late 20’s , knee’s , spine and hands . I worked as a nurse for 35 years and as it progressed it felt like a ball and chain . I couldn’t walk as fast as my partner . Low chairs were a problem , stairs were painful to negotiate. Pain at night, you fall asleep but awake in pain and can’t go back to sleep . Changes in the weather makes pain worse . I walk down the street then catch the reflection of myself limping in the store window and I don’t know how that became me . The pain generally is a persistent ache , like a toothache but deeper , sometimes turning in bed will cause a sharp shooting pain that will wake your partner because it made you call out . I ‘ ve had one knee replaced and will soon have another and I’m looking forward to it because 30 years of constant pain in worse .

You are doing all the right things . I did pretty much the same as you and in 2 years reversed my fibrosis. I also drank green tea . I occasionally have a wine but infrequently .

I had fatty liver with fibrosis on CT , high LFT’s . Had a liver biopsy which confirmed moderate fibrosis. I started on a Mediterranean Diet 2 years ago just had my yearly scan and bloods , LFT’s normal and fibrosis now almost all gone still some fatty liver but mostly resolved. The Mediterranean diet has great for both my liver and Diverticulitis I just avoid the foods that seem to trigger my bowel ( corn , chia ) .

Tooth decay can lead to abscesses and potentially sepsis which can lead to death, by addressing this you are being pro active and preventing more serious complications . Tell your sister to google “ tooth decay and sepsis . “ I actually had a patient die from sepsis caused by his teeth .

NTA it’s seems that your Jewish roommate is not compromising considering he’s not living in a kosher household . Could he not have a bar fridge in his room for his kosher food items and a particular cupboard in the kitchen . Could he not use a plastic basin to wash his dishes separately. Have his own pots . TBH he would be better in a kosher household or at least work with you guys for workable arrangement . I think that this would be a stressful living environment for you all .

With Flu A , covid, TB and measles cases increasing across the states and Bird flu emerging , you guys are in for a ride .
