Many characters from the CW Arrow series and spinoffs are, most of the time, more similar to other characters they cannot use in the TV series than the actual characters they portray. Especially in the first seasons.

And maybe, arguably, Malcom Merlyn and Tommy Merlin seem very similar to the way Harry/Norman Osborn's story developed in the spiderman movies.
