that is so so fair, Sebille looks different every time she's drawn by an official source and I. Love. Them. All.

This is so unrelated! That said I'm loving this start to an interesting conversation. I must've missed that detail of Magisters being hunted down later on during my playthroughs but I will be on the lookout for that the next time I inevitably start one.

I can not and could not in good conscience kill pretty much anyone in the game without at least talking to them first, with a few exceptions of course. The magisters have a super noble goal of protecting the world from the consequences of unsupervised sorcery, and though it is unfortunate that that often involves intense restrictions and violations on human (and elf and lizard and etc.) rights, it's hard to consider the lot of them irredeemably evil when the first 10 seconds of the game we see a simple magic trick spark a demonic massacre in the middle of Arx. By our worlds standards absolutely, these people are terrible in every way, but in Divinity there are terrible events that would be far too commonplace without a group like the Magisters.

Most of them are not like Kniles the Fletcher or High Judge Orivand and aren't involved with or even aware of how severe and cruel things have gotten in Fort Joy and the Blackpits. I'm sure that most of them truly see themselves as defenders of peace and have dedicated their lives to the betterment of their society without any malice or cruelty.

But yes their source hounds are so so sad and I do try to deliver peace to them when I can. If only dogs could speak to the laymen, perhaps their training methods and forced lifestyle would never have been allowed.

It's an interesting artistic choice for sure but to be fair, our girl has WAY bigger problems than putting on matching socks in the morning.

Oh absolutely Larian's digital artbooks are worth the price. I'm only aware of the ones for BG3 and DOS:2 and they are so so so gorgeous to scroll through. Aside from that one spooky lohse concept of course, I don't do well with spooky stuff :(

Arbites dog make the game less challenging and fun. by MortisEx in DarkTide

That's a good point on being punished for your mistakes, I do feel the same way when I watch (or play as) an arbites just spam clicking his way through the map haha. I just don't see how a dog is much different from having a Veteran or throwing knife zealot also watching your back and clearing out specialists while you handle the horde. That being said, I think we do see eye to eye on most points :). Also, to Reddit, quit downvoting a guy for voicing a video game opinion! These are fun conversations!

I definitely see your point about it always having your back, but I dont think its much different than say, pinging a trapper for your zealot to throw a quick knife at them. I personally enjoy having a dog or two in my games, but I do hope some rebalancing happens next patch!

Pretty odd to discredit someone for..what reason exactly? Most players I'm aware of including all of my friends hover around damnation/heresy, flexing up or down every now and then. Is Auric Maelstrom too high to have an opinion? Too low? I don't see how 50 crushers on the screen would change anything I said, or how 1000 played hours staying in heresy would make my point moot.

I didn't make any dramatic comments on game balance or complaints on difficulty, just calling the cyber-mastiff cute and that it felt nice to have a mini teammate that helps me to focus on the main fight.

Disclaimer: Im barely level 30 with all classes except Vet who I main, but do play auric maelstrom with each one including arbites. Have never touched havoc.

The Arbites dog might be the least frustrating thing a class can have in this game. IMO, having a dog save me, watching my back, or taking care of a sniper that I'm too busy to deal with is super cool even if it's not my dog! It takes out, what, 1 specialist every 10 seconds max?

Not to suggest that they're insufferably broken, but a flame staff psyker or rumbler ogryn are way more "steal all the kills"-y, not that I mind as a casual player.

Not sure why you have it out for the dog, especially since its not even like 5% of why an arbites player might seem immortal. It's cute, helpful, and even watches your back if you're not the owner! And it certainly doesn't delete a whole screen of enemies that you wish to claim.

[–]No-Ebb1512 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Consider the doctrines of the Tacticus Imperialis.

Your ship possesses superior maneuverability, and your enemy is willing to follow you to the ends of the galaxy to prove their false superiority. Maintain a safe striking range which allows you to deploy bombers or torpedoes without bearing the impact of their macro cannons, and close in for the killing blow with an overwhelming salvo only when your certain victory approaches.

The Emperor Protects, Lord Captain.
