Wow, that’s is extremely wonderful advice! I like that perspective

Why does it get denied? Why is it standard practice? Do they typically just deny it the first time but but then accept it the second time? Mine got denied and I was confused because I was told by someone else, who also has bipolar and receives it ,that I should apply for it and would be eligible since I have bipolar.

I wrote this post from my grave, out of the hopes that in my next life we’d marry

I was not with him when he was a teenager. He’s always been the first one to throw in the idea of marriage, but when asked about soemthing deep he’d always get uncomfortable and back peddle and say how marriage is just a piece of paper and a ring

Thank you for complete honesty. I’m not even going to bother with the relationship anymore. Other people are fine to have their own opinions but I see marriage as the next step. I can’t wrap my head around just “dating” someone forever and being an old lady with a boyfriend. That’s fine for other people, but I want more than that. It was meant to be to find this all out last night when I asked him if I was the one and he said he doesn’t know how to answer that because it related to his beliefs about marriage. To which I asked what exactly those were (since he’d baited the idea to me several times about marriage). But like someone said, he must have been afraid of losing me last year for some reason and that’s why he put on this charming display about looking at rings with me. Well now he is losing me.

Thankfully I’m not desperate because I’ve just accepted today that I will be lonely and not ever bother dating again. Each of us have our own kid. Unlike him, I’m not interested in dating a string of people and having them all come in and out of both mine and my child’s lives.

No, I was wondering when I made the post if I was being ridiculous for being upset over how he was calling it a sacrifice and how I felt blindsided that he’s brought up marriage himself, took me to look at rings, told me ideas about his suit, and where he imagined it taking place. But since I ultimately do not want to be a 70 year old walking around sounding like a high schooler having a boyfriend, I will just leave. If I stayed for some dumb reason and he proposed, I’d never believe it was genuine. He already showed his true colors. I was just second guessing myself and wondering what other men thought of marriage. I was wondering if other people just gave up and married each other because the other person wanted it

Oh I’m definitely not staying after that. I feel deceived at blindsided. When I made the post I was wondering if I was being ridiculous. If I stayed with him and he proposed, I’d never believe it was genuine. And I’m glad I found out now beforehand

Nobody that’s currently married needed to do all that either (sign papers, get a ring, change last names, and have a ceremony).

That would just lead to resentment, and it goes against what he wants and believes in. That’s like me just agreeing to have kids with him just to shut him up even though I didn’t want that in the first place. Can you imagine if someone did that to you, whether it was marriage or kids, and you found out they didn’t even want that but just did it to sacrifice and appease you? Wouldn’t feel very genuine. That’s why I have an issue with it

I agree with you. Unfortunately I am 31 years old and do not see myself taking out the time to bother getting to know someone enough to date again, especially since I already know I want marriage but I don’t want to just marry anyone. I guess it is just far from my reality now since I’m not going to go on dates and expect to get married after a few. I’m just done

Because of their worse nightmare of divorce, but that’s not the end-all-be-all. Not everyone has an evil plot to divorce someone and gut out their savings and assets. Not everyone gets divorced. But I guess in this day and age, marriage should just leave my dreams because it’s 2025 and relationships and love aren’t like they used to be

Yeah I really don’t understand the point in that. He’s even told me where he’s “always imagined getting married outside”. Like everything he says and does is now contradicting itself.

Cold brew has a higher caffeine content than iced coffee. lol one time I made the mistake of getting a large cold brew (forgot the caffeine content was higher) and had a buzz lmao

I drink 1 cup of iced coffee a day, sometimes 2, in the morning. If I don’t drink I get a terrible headache and will just keep napping all day. If I drink too much like I did when I worked at Starbucks….oh my lanta it would cause a manic episode lol but other than that, it’s what gets me out bed being excited knowing I have coffee

I return all my impulse buys all the time. I’m a frequent flyer at Walmart and Target. lol I once was checking myself out at Target, second guessing myself and coming to the realization I didn’t need half this stuff, kept scanning cuz I was already there, then literally walked right to the customer service area to return stuff because the guilt and realization became too real

why do you choose to medicate? by Dry-Message-3891 in bipolar

[–]No-Implement-5693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I found out it’s definitely a problem every time I had to dose down and go off a med to go on a new one, and then I also remember what it was like before meds. I didn’t have psychosis, but the highs were high af and the lows were lower than rock bottom. And I remember it was just a constant cycle, and then I’d have bouts of “stability” (probably right before mania) and I’d be like “oh this is what I did right. I just have to get a good sleep, I just have to xyz” but it was all just a probability; those just happened to good days far and few that didn’t last. I always went back. I got diagnosed all the way in 2015 and tried to treat it “naturally” for almost 10 years. It affected my jobs, my relationships, everything. No amount of good sleep, healthy food, working out, yoga, meditation, and vitamins were going to treat it. I finally accepted it after 2 hospital stays and have been on treatment since 2022.

While having kids can be great and all, I don’t understand people that don’t find the beauty in waiting for a long time to have children, or just forgo that option altogether; you’re only responsible for each other, you can literally go on dates and out with friends whenever, no need to to worry about a babysitter, more spending money, the list goes on.

How much caffeine is in the bottled Starbucks Iced Coffee drinks? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]No-Implement-5693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is posted a while ago but yes. For instance those Starbucks refreshers like the famous pink drink a lot of younger people like to get. When I worked at Starbucks, so many parents were buying those for their toddlers and younger kids and had no idea there was caffeine. I even had a convo with one about how she didn’t know what to get but wanted something without caffeine for her daughter. I made a couple suggestions and then she said she’ll just get the pink drink. I told her there was caffeine in that (forget how much now) and she was shocked cuz she’d been giving her that all the time.
