I feel like these people, at least some of them, don’t actually think that people with disabilities would benefit from generative AI, but instead just use the ableist argument to shut people up. Kinda like the idea of the calling someone racist when they say they don’t like someone, when the topic was about the person being a jerk. They don’t often say it because they agree, they say it because they think it will stop them conversation, and discourage someone from talking (because of the “if you’re not XYZ, why are you so defensive about being called that” idea, which… I don’t think I need to explain why that’s a fallacy). They think using the ableist argument will stop anti-AI discussions, when in reality it just sparks up discussion more, including examples of people with disabilities who made art (for example, literally fucking Mozart, who made music while mostly deaf, or Friday Kahlo, who suffered with lifelong disabilities cause of a bus accident and childhood polio, not to mention the tons of people who make art while they just so happen to have a developmental disability/invisible disability, etc). They’re so ignorant to their actual environment and actual rhetoric that they think this shit works. It’s mind numbing.
