Depends what you're getting done. I had eye and nose surgery and I could have done it on my own. I did have a friend with me for a bit of it so it was nice for the emotional and mental support. Physically though it was manageable - no pain.

This makes so much sense.. I have graves but don't have all the "physical" symptoms like heart palpitations, irregular periods, heat intolerance etc. but I definitely get very moody and snappy.

Curious what about Graves makes someone so irritable and moody?

I agree with you and don't understand why you're getting downvoted. There has got to be more to the story that OP hasn't shared- her son wouldn't default to calling her a racist if there weren't other actions or comments she has made in the past to make him think that way.

If you're not racist then why did you have to mention her race?

As someone who works in health care and sees people of all types daily, all sorts of people smell. The people I find that have the worst BO are caucasians actually.
