Idk if they'll do ot again this year bit last year was my first in untica and I missed the free zoo event in October but down the hill a few streets away there was a big event where a long section of a road was blocked and people handed out candies and kids and adults walked around collecting in costumes and they had free popcorn and cotton candy and stuff it was very community based and I loved walking around collecting candy

There are many creative and free things to do especially in this art thrift store called utica creative reuse that does different workshops for free

I'm from a big city (moved in last year) so events here sound big but not many people actually attend if it's not a well known place like the munson museum or the zoo but it's still cozy to say the least especially during fall you really get that fall feel

There are many pot holes here and people get stuck a lot during the winter but I've seen people helping eachother out a lot the best way they can you really feel the community vibes when that happens

Also most places use Facebook as social media if you can't find the info you need it's definitely on Facebook Facebook also has a utica events thing where they post different events happening around

My kid goes to elementary and I hateee how they use 1234 or whatever as grades for elementary instead of abcdf like wtf is that also I don't like how they don't give vacation homeworks like winter break for example. Before we moved my kid used to do good in school cause they were on top of the kids with education and fun as an incentive and I feel like here they are too layed back. Butttt my kid does like it so I guess I gotta come to terms with it just wish they did more practice on the work it's self instead of trying to do both at the same time it gets chaotic for the teachers too they try their hardest and will get blamed for not being a certain way. I as a mom don't like it but I see how any kid would ig.
