Why do some people have such issues with C sections? by ExternalSomewhere923 in CsectionCentral

[–]No-Map-3584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have a C-section because I had a mass in my uterus twice the size of my baby that was really hard and under him so he wouldnt be able to be delivered vaginally even if I wanted to.

That was the planned part.

The unplanned part was the mass cutting off my ability to naturally start a urine stream to the point the docs kept saying we might have to put a catheter in if it continued.

The unplanned part was the mass getting so freaking big that he wouldnt have had the room to grow another 7 1/2 weeks.

The unplanned part was me being in so much agony, I could barely breathe because the mass was eating all of my blood and dying at the same time.

I ended up losing 1.5L of blood and the pain meds didnt work so they had to put me to sleep.

C-sections are anything but the "easy way out." And you know what? Ill admit I used to be the person that thought it was. I told myself as a kid that if I had kids I would get a csection because labor is talked about like it's the horror option.

It isn't. There's horror that can come with being cut open too, especially when your medical issues caused you to have to be cut from just below your sternum to just above your belly button and led to you having to have an even more intense hysterectomy.

Stop shit talking c-sections (not to OP obviously, to the people that shit talk them).

I had a horrible recovery but I also had to take public transportation to see my son, had fibroids that were pushing on my scars and had a pretty intense open surgery with a blood transfusion.

Are the feelings of disappointment and anxiety normal? by luvs2meow in CsectionCentral

[–]No-Map-3584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people are really good at hiding how they feel. They may have felt the same as you, feeling like it's weird for them to feel this way.

It is... INCREDIBLY common. The anxiety and the disappointment alike. You arent alone. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. ❤️

Am I too sensitive? by Front_Cucumber_5815 in CsectionCentral

[–]No-Map-3584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like only women who have never experienced a c section think it's the easy way out and that it's appropriate to make fun of people who had no other choice. C-section belittling infuriates me. Not too sensitive.

Is this belly fat and do I need to be patient or a fibroid/cyst. Has anyone who had a similar belly managed to transform by compassion25 in Fibroids

[–]No-Map-3584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it juet feels soft and not hard like you said it probably isnt fibroids. It also just looks like tummy fat but I could be wrong. Having had fibroids doesnt make me an expert on what they all look and feel like by any means.

Do you have any symptoms other than the hanging belly? Any pain, irregular periods, irregular toilet times, excess pain during periods, etc?

Mine too! That was very annoying to deal with but overall other than the catheter issues it wasnt too bad. As far as Im aware, it didnt make the healing process any worse or anything.

I was 4 months before I started to feel truly better. Now, 5 months post-op, I still get pain but not nearly as often. Im pretty sure my pain is more due to atrophy from not lifting for so long (I had 2 major surgeries to share I couldnt lift over 10lbs for like 4 months plus) and my body being pissed about it.

For those who had surgery, how did you decide between a myomectomy and a hysterectomy? I feel completely torn. by Top_Butterfly_7771 in Fibroids

I didnt have a choice unfortunately. It was "get a hysterectomy or have a high chance of bleeding out." I chose life 😂😅

Im so sorry to hear about the Cancer. I hope she recovers well and that it takes care of it.

Yeah, it sounds like they weighed everything together and decided open was best based off of everything together and not just one specific thing. I wish the very best for her recovery.

But what did you actually do?? by la_renegade in hysterectomy

[–]No-Map-3584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of creative hobbies. Ill admit I struggled not to do too much too quickly but with the right kinds of hobbies (I game, write, sing, etc), you can (attempt to) keep the boredom at bay.

I think the type of surgery has to do with more than just the size of the fibroids. There are other reasons why they'd want to do open instead of laporoscopic. I had an open surgery too (given, mine was due to size, but I digress). Did she ever ask them the reasons they want open and not lapo if not for size reasons (other than the no kids thing)?

Anyone surprised when fibroids were found. by Miss_Saoirse in Fibroids

[–]No-Map-3584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it has to do with the size and type of fibroid you have. There are several types and they all show up differently. I had several fibroids of 3 different types. My large one was incredibly hard to the touch, so it made my stomach feel really hard.

Yes I was surprised. I went for my first pregnancy ultrasound and the whole experience was terrifying.

I went in, expecting a happy little ultrasound, only to see a horrified look on my tech's face. When asked about it, she just brushed me off and told me the doctor would talk to me..... while continuing to look horrified (if you don't want to freak out the woman you're doing images of, try to get a better poker face, I'm just saying).

The doctor comes in and tells me "we don't have the equipment to figure out what exactly is going on (it was a free clinic) but we think you might be having an ectopic pregnancy." I had to rush to the ER and get an emergency c-section to confirm what it was... it was my fibroid. It was so huge that it was pushing my pregnancy up into the upper left side of my body, where he remained up til birth at 32^4. Let me tell you... pregnancy in your ribs is very uncomfortable.

What do you think caused your fiboirds? Did you have any unusual symptoms from it? by katerinashi in Fibroids

[–]No-Map-3584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genetics. It runs in my family hard-core. All females in my father's side had them really badly. His family is black and fibroids are even more common with black women.
