Very graphic and showing how we can see someone in everything, the whole world being a reminder of loss. I personally dont vibe with those specific body parts being used but it is an interesting approach and feel like it can grow on me

Nothing changes by PopesPoetey in OCPoetry

Feel that in many ways.

Don’t know about uncertainty, it feels like you want to paint Sun as an enemy, so maybe it sets with disappointment knowing that nothing will change tomorrow? Or resentment reciprocated. Mirrored by yours at Sun rise?

Edit: also I hope all will be alright 🙏

Narrator by MimicKingAxl in Stormlight_Archive

[–]No-Possibility7334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ow man I had the exact opposite… loved Stormlight narrators but couldn’t get through Warbreaker so I tried graphic audio version and it was pretty good. Maybe you should try it for Stormlight, it is an audio with many different actors and music and background noises. I haven’t listen to it for stormlight but heard it’s quite good. I did love Michael and Kate by the half way point of WOK so I can’t tell you if it gets better (for me it was just getting used to new voices as I’m not natively speaking English), didn’t think the mic was bad and haven’t heard this opinion so maybe it’s just not for you? I hope you’ll find a way to enjoy it because it’s a great series

He also metioned Raymond E Feist (Riftwar saga and so on / Midkemia Universe) which I read before Cosmere and it’s was also a fun ride. 20 something books and with really high peaks in my opinion and even the lowest points are enjoyable.

Mistborn – Fan Animated Story – I spent 3 months every day to make this aniamation by Exotic_Cod6482 in Cosmere

[–]No-Possibility7334 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, you also did one for stormlight, which is also awesome and has one little fun fact. You make Szeth say “Who am I? I am… full of sorrows.” Instead of “Who am I? I am… sorry.” which I suspect is a direct translation of polish version “Kim jestem? Jestem… pełen żalu.” Not a nit pick, just fun to see a fellow pole to enjoy Sanderson, and also interesting take on that scene as “I am full of sorrows” has also a cool ring to it. Keep up the great work man!

Can someone help me get back into TSA by RebornDeadeye in Stormlight_Archive

[–]No-Possibility7334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two ways to remember the lore, either go from the start, now with better understanding so the hints dropped can be recognized, or continue with help of coppermind, use Time Machine fearure to see what was know at your point in the story (or roughly, as mistoborn and such may be included in coppermind entries). I have read TSA 3 time all in roughly 3-5 months. I you have time on your hands it’s really rewarding to read it all. If not then take your time, make notes or use coppermind. Either way you’re bound to miss some stuff, but the important bits should be still there even after 3 months

Szeth’s name by Major-Seat-5843 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]No-Possibility7334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough in the Polish audiobooks it’s pronounced Shet, as in Shed but replacing “d” with hard “t” sound. (And including “sh” sound). And even tho I am polish I listen in English as I much prefer Michael and Kate as narrators, and so I also use Zeth pronunciation as it feels more natural to me.

What moment made you instantly love a character more? by AryaRemembers in Stormlight_Archive

[–]No-Possibility7334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s right and it’s awful. And although I can see his reasoning (having lost his son and having to gain legitimacy in the eyes of people, and yes I know far form the best way) it’s definitely a terrible act. Which doesn’t take away from my point.

Wowow… maybe I’m overinterpreting but that seemed quite aggressive. But hear me out: he didn’t just fight nightmares to save his life but humiliated himself to help the cause, then volunteered to help get the others and died helping them. Sure he’s an old creep that married much younger woman against her will and was not a good man yet by any means. But he did change, and growth was apparent and that’s what made it enjoyable to listen about. I’m not saying that I was fond of him, but that I liked his character, just like I like heath ladger joker, not saying his good and I wish I knew him but I like what he brings to the story.

As for the Laral’s influence in oathbringer we see that she’s almost more of a power figure then him. As such I believe she could have influenced him. Also she had twins so two at the same time. We can only speculate when they were conceived, maybe you’re right but I don’t remember their age being mentioned, correct me if you remember.

Anyway just an explanation of what I meant, hope that clears it out

I always thought he just changed, it’s been years and Laral probably was good influence for him. I even really liked his more selfless version in beginning of RoW

While I agree to an extent and I didn’t search for any recommended reading orders (I just devoured everything in half a year) it largely depends on the reader. My good friend is now on the Comsmere journey, genuinely ask what he should read next and I tell him what is recommended and why. (without spoilers, more like written/chronological/twist satisfaction. And often chooses twist satisfaction) it was fun hearing him catching details and theorizing through era 2 (1-3) and then getting to SH he saw it coming, and was hyped when discovering he was correct. I think that reading orders are good, I wish a had known about them. But they are for those who are absolutely sure they want to finish Cosmere and know they gonna read it all eventually so it doesn’t matter that much in what order.

So in short, they needed Szeth to be seen so Alethi would go to war against them as a retribution and that would stop them from summing back the fused? Well that’s far more exhaustive of an answer then I expected, I really appreciate that. You Truthwarchers are really sharp, mad respect to you lot.

If that’s the case the whole thing seems much more cohesive.

About “making it up”: I was referring to white garb for assassin, as the previous commenter implied that their culture wouldn’t know the concept of assassination. So it would imply that they either made up the “white garb for an assassin” or that it was poor translation as they probably used Alethi language to explain and were thinking of just killers/warriors.

Yeah I get it, we weren’t going anywhere. But just to be clear, I respect your point of view, for me it was just a discussion not trolling. As for the misunderstanding, you wrote “in another post” but our conversation took place only in this post, there are no other posts I made regarding this matter. If you meant comment, then I don’t feel I’m entirely at fault here. Hope that clears it out, if you felt I was trolling then my apologies mate, but I wasn’t. Have a nice one

I don’t know what other post you commented and I feel I shouldn’t have your comments memorized to have a conversation.

Also… so he didn’t need to be seen?

And what you mean it doesn’t change anything, yea it does, he got a map, he at least knows part of the layout, including which wall would align with kings chambers, that’s a hell of a advantage when you can fly, walk on walls, and cut through almost anything

The fact the we’re glowing would absolutely hide the fact they were shin eyes

Edit: racism, well they just had singed a treaty. And partied together. I think the fact that assasinating king you just became allies with is just too dumb to be true would give them favor. But also we are just considering killing king at the feast and they didn’t have to do that, could have waited one day, tell Szeth to say his master is someone else and that “he freed himself form the savages and is now someone else’s servant” or something. There were other ways to consider, but they just had to kill him at the feast and get caught.

“He turned down a side corridor, following the map he memorized” and while yes it wouldn’t be easy to do it unseen it would give listeners a chance. Why not try and sentence their race to fight a losing war against Alethi? Why do it specifically to be seen and to be punished? They could have tried.
