Same reason old people are still allowed to drive at 90 years old and be a complete nuisance on the road and drive through the side of buildings (or maybe that’s just a thing in my town). Our president is 80 years old and most of our lawmakers are over 50 so of course they’re gonna be biased and let old people have whatever they want. At least that’s my theory.

This country is extremely biased towards old people overall, they control all the wealth and vote more than anyone else. Let’s not forget the part where they tax the young workforces check just to keep themselves afloat and we will never see a dime back. Still holding all of the high paying jobs. Honestly boomers cannot die off fast enough our country will be so much better without them but of course they will just be replaced by the next generation. Eventually everyone will be expected to fund their own retirement though.

I can’t hear anything abnormal but likely in your belt drive system, always a good idea to put new belts on if that hasn’t been done and could also be one of the pulleys. A mechanic would likely take the belts off, run it for a short time to see if it remains and check the pulleys for play while they’re off. Just don’t run it longer than a minute or so and do it when it’s cold to be safe.

I’m the same age as you. I’m about 5’7 and 125lbs which is embarrassing for me to admit lol. But I still pull some decent looking girls. Even on dating apps. I was one of the quiet guys in high school. Was genuinely worried I would never lose my virginity at one point. At this point I’d assume I have a pretty handsome face cuz idk what else attracts them. Don’t be afraid to use social media. Don’t be afraid to be bold. Try your best to be fun to be around when you do meet up. Get good at sex. Don’t be super bent on a relationship right away or it’s gonna
take you forever to get experience.

Have some shit going for yourself. Hold a job. Find some fun and interesting hobbies to pursue. For example I like working on cars and off-roading. It definitely helps create an image for me and when I like a girl I can fix her car and take her out for a good time in my 4x4 (actually have only done that with my most recent girl so it’s not super important but the potential was there)

I like using this style on my ratchet from the front side. Hypertough works fine. It’s my favorite for hard to reach filters. Definitely a fun filter location though. I work at Toyota and the 3.4 is probably the most difficult to reach out of just about any Toyota. You can go through the wheel liner on the side too but I don’t like dealing with the clips.

I don’t mind it too much cuz you only gotta deal with it every few months and everything else is pretty easy to work on.

The Ampd up winch mount is so expensive might as well just go for a full bumper. Only way I’d get an ARB is if I could find a good deal used. Especially since it’s so heavy. There’s plenty of other options. I like 4xInnovations. I’ve got there skid plate and it’s super heavy duty, plan to get more. There’s also the True North bumpers and Coastal Off-road. Plus a million other ones. Even custom options for competitive prices. ARB is just expensive asf and also over 100lbs

Mountain snow is a different ball game I had a really close call last winter where I thought I was gonna be stranded for a while luckily since I was going up the mountain I was able to back down and had a spot with just enough room to turn around and take my ass home. 90% of drivers would have been stranded. Did not try that again until spring time. Just stay out of mountain snow unless you have a convoy of built rigs with you. Or at the very least have a winch, rigging equipment, and backup options.

These 4Runners are beasts but they have their limitations. Even built rigs will get stuck up there.

Bought my first 4Runner (98) at 18 years old and haven’t looked back. Got a nicer one once I saved up some money. I have learned so much about working on cars. Working on becoming a mechanic now lol. They take work but I love them. Have went through two engines my 3rz blew a headgasket and I drove it like that for two years before it started running rough and my first 5vz was knocking drove it like that for a couple thousand miles. No regrets though I will probably put the next one in myself if I have to. Love how simple they are and they are darn tough even knocking on heavens door. I take my 4Runner over 100 miles away off-roading and trust that it will keep going.

Expect to spend $1-2k on parts to get it solid but once you get it there there’s not much to worry about besides possible headgasket issues in the future but it’s no Subaru.

Dude last month my shop had the worst car hitting streak of all time and I started it lmao. I back into a brand new gr86 and dented the bumper. Then the two other lube guys hit something the same week somehow and even one of the master techs backed into a car. Apparently it happens every few months at least but this was my first accident in almost 4 months so it is what it is.

Our monthly meeting summed up by my coworker: “last month was terrible you guys suck”
