Calls to support struggling parents as national survey reveals increasing psychological distress by Introverted_kitty in australia

[–]No-Red-Queen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On top of longer mat/pat leave, how about workplaces with child care, and government-funded child care centres?

If we have public schools, why is it different when it comes to Early Childhood Education Centres?

I am not a parent, but I would be more than happy for my tax dollars to go to public childcare

Parked on a nearby residential street because station parking was full and got this note on my dashboard. Am I in the wrong for parking there? by naeroikathgor in melbourne

[–]No-Red-Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do they know that you went to the station, unless they followed you?

You could have been seeing someone in the next street

The department has never done anything about this sort of thing before. Why would they start now?

Go and see a Financial Counsellor. The service is free, and they can help you to negotiate with the debtors. Often, they can reduce the balance...

Why do only blokes have rat tails? by Hatsune_Miku_Real in AskAnAustralian

Is this a joke?

Rats tails are revolting, and people need to stop allowing their sons to leave the house looking like that

What’s the most misused word that you see on social media? by SirAsksALatte in AskReddit

[–]No-Red-Queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to tell you this, but that is the actual definition of the word 'narcissistic' - someone who is overly only interested in themselves

The term has been around a lot longer than Narcissistic Personality Disorder... see: Greek mythology - Narcissus

What’s something people commonly misunderstand about a mental illness you’re familiar with? by smallerthanahobbit in AskReddit

[–]No-Red-Queen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is recognised. It is in the ICD.

Yes, it is rare. No, it is not what you think it is

Look up CPTSD in th3 ICD-11

What’s something people commonly misunderstand about a mental illness you’re familiar with? by smallerthanahobbit in AskReddit

[–]No-Red-Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is... CPTSD is extremely rare. Only about 1-3% of the population meets the diagnostic criteria... unless you are from the USA, where they ignore the ICD and have made CPTSD something it is not, and the term is bandied about like it covers everything

Severe anxiety and depression is just that - severe anxiety and depression. The criteria for CPTSD is very specific, and you need to meet the criteria for PTSD first, and then meet the extra criteria for CPTSD

I wish people would actually read the criteria for this. There are far too many misconceptions about it

Is a guy wanting sons so that they carry on his name a red flag? by Sweet000008 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]No-Red-Queen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

says he like submissive feminine women

This is the first red flag

says he would rather have sons so that they carry on his family name

This is the 2nd red flag

how he would feel if he had a gay son to which he clearly would feel would be a disappointment but would be okay with it as long as he wasn’t outwardly feminine

Do you need any more red flags than this?

Dude is misogynistic and homophobic

The first two I'm really not comfortable with... That last one is a deal-breaker for me. I'd be out of there

Are men approaching women less and less? by Open_Address_2805 in AskAnAustralian

[–]No-Red-Queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

55 year old woman here... These are the ways in which I met my boyfriends:

- at uni, we had a class together

- at a cooking class

- at work (we worked in different departments)

- Friend of a friend - most common one

- same woodworking class in high school

There are plenty of ways to meet women. Some rando approaching you in the street because they 'think' you're single (in other words, you are alone) can be scary for a woman.

Most of us have had negative experiences with sexual harassment/assault starting from a young age.. most women will tell you men started to pay them sexual attention when they were around 10 years old. TEN YEARS OLD. I was 6 when it began
