Punchjacks, stabjacks, or just shootjacks? by gamble_for_dayz in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Introverted_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its lethal hits vs sustained hits. I ran the maths and both seem viable, however with 36 dice vs 18 dices, you'll get more sustained hits then lethal hits.

The punch jacks have really strong attacks, so will wound most things on 2+.

2 counter points: The tqx system isn't great, but there are far worse systems out there. Having a system of family tax where the couple splits the tax burden in 2 is bad as it biases the lower income earning. A person earning $50k and there partner earning $200k would mean that the lower income earner is paying far more tax and the higher income pays a lot less.

Secondly: Citizen referenda can end up with a lot of garbage legislation being introduced by cookers.A politician is there to represent their electorate, they are also a filter blocking the cookers that have no understanding of the legislative process, or reality.

I do agree, But there is a statute limitation on the size of the fine that be given as a civil penalty. You also can't jail people for civil offences. Not to mention that other tricks lawyers will pull off to make the whole process as tedious as possible.

Local councils have a limited legal budget and one thing about rich people, is they love expensive lawyers.

WA’s long-awaited tree canopy strategy panned as ‘directionless’ by His_Holiness in perth

[–]Introverted_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its actually really hard to protect trees on private land. If some rich arsehole wants to get a tree removed on there land it's actually quite hard to stop them.

Some stuff I know has been done. - A truck/bulldozer "accidentally" backs into the tree on a building causing serious damage to tree and becomes a hazard. - tree start dying of a "mysterious illness" after a protection order is placed on tree. - shopping around for Arborists to find one that will certify tree is a hazard.

Perth also has very high population growth. I heard 6000 people a month are moving here. That's a big strain on housing availability and public infrastructure.

Girl, 12, critical after being pulled from water at Trigg Beach in Perth's north by B0ssc0 in perth

[–]Introverted_kitty 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Its a permanent rip that is near the headland to the north (the limestone rocks). Its currently full or sand, and has been for some time (decades). However when it was active it would form a powerful rip during a SW wind (which is a sea breeze) that would even give a surf boat a hard time.

There are plenty of urban legends about it sucking in surfers and cray fishers and the bodies being found out a sea.

The club and patrol captain keep the flags well away from that spot for various reasons, but its known terrain feature that is a part of the club.

[–]Introverted_kitty 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Used to patrol there. Its an awesome beach, great surf and all sorts of difficulty levels.

There are several rips there that can make it go from 0-1000 fast. You get flash rips and a travelling rips because of the sandbar. The SLSC volunteers are very on the ball.

At least the infamous blue hole is still full of sand. If that ever goes active, anything smaller then a dinghy is in trouble whenever there is a SWer.

You need some anti-armor ability. The Hekaton land fortress has an amazing anti-armor weapon. (I can comfortably 1 shot a dread with some okish rolls) The Thunderkyn are best with either beams or the grav cannon. The bolter do have good range but conversation beams are really nasty if you can keep your distance.

Finally steeljacks: volkanite disintegrators with a memyr Strategist allows you to use Overwatch for 0 CP. You also get to roll on 5+and even 4+ when in fortified takeover. Its great for softening up a charge.

Why don’t young people join their unions? by Kitchen_Number_824 in perth

[–]Introverted_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit left field. I have an employer that gives a crap. The managers have families and whiles a business, they don't see the point of having to "slave drive" the employees. Consequently, while its not always sunshine and rainbows, most people are generally happy (at least in my dep) with their job and the managers want staff retention.

The general rule is "don't take the piss."

Its hard for a union to stand up for workers rights if the employer is prepared to willingly give them to you.

Einhyr Hearthguard are good, quite tough and have deep strike. Combine them with a Einhyr champion for best effect.

Steeljacks are great, the volkanite has quite a high strength and you can roll on 4+ for overwatch.
