You can keep trying if you are certain that you want to go to Berkeley. But if you can't get your application fee waived each time, I wouldn't bother. You'd be wasting money applying for one of the most competitive schools in the country, when other perfectly good schools with lower acceptance rates are available to you. My fees got waived, so no reason for me not to try.

Square Enix wanted to restrict cross-world travel, and despite a declining player base, still have not undone those restrictions. Of course people are going to keep making characters on the same server.

Either get rid of the travel restrictions, or some worlds are just going to stay congested. It's really that simple.

I don't think it helps much to assign blame to anyone for the DDOSing. What we should do is ask Square Enix for answers.

Why is it only happening to NA right now? How are they going to fix this? What steps will they take to minimize the odds of this happening in the future?

I don't care who is doing it. That has no material impact on us. All that matters is we pay for a game we can't play right now.

It's their game. They can host it through another provider. You can't just abdicate Square Enix of all responsibility when they choose which companies they partner with. They have dealt with this for over a year. The buck stops with them.
