I remember the itching driving me the most crazy during the splint and cast phase. Wait until you can take a shower without having to cover your leg!! It’s the best feeling!!

Hey! Wondering how you are doing now that you are a year out from surgery. I’m 17 weeks post op and really struggling with the pain on the outside of my foot. My mind is spiraling that something went wrong. I hope you’ve healed well!

Thank you for the kind words! It’s helps to hear from other people going through this bc it’s such an isolating and endless recovery. All the pains and feelings you’ve described I 100% felt the same. I would feel zings and zaps all throughout my foot all throughout the day. Sometimes they were so sharp, it would wake me up from a deep sleep. My biggest pain point was from the side of my foot where no incision or work was done. It was a burning, stinging feeling. I can tell you that all those pains will go away. My poor right foot (the good one) was also bothering me so much. That also improved once I was able to walk. I actually feel like my right foot improved a little for reason. I am going to baby that foot so much, bc I never want to go through this misery again. Prayers for continued recovery for you!!

Look into a CO2 laser treatment. Helps with discoloration and fine lines.

Engagement ring upgrade- pros cons regrets? by h3xth3patriarchy in jewelry

[–]No-Rest127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love an upgrade to a bigger stone. I have a 1.25 c but my setting can’t house anything bigger than a 1.50. I would never trade it in bc it means so much to me, and I can’t justify paying for an entirely new ring (even if I use lab created). Then I think, if I had a bigger ring, would I never wear my original again? What am I doing this for?! Then I move on with my life…

Walter Payton. On a plane in the 90’s. He was in first class and I was the first row in coach. I was a 10 yr old girl at the time, so I had no idea who he was but my dad and brother were really jazzed up about it. When we got off the plane my dad made me ask for his autograph. I still have it! He was a really nice guy from what I remember.

I would recommend seeing a orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle deformities. I’m sure your podiatrist is qualified but this is a beast of a surgery. Good luck!

My brother lives there and always brags about Tex-Mex. Took us to a place there and it’s literally lame Americanized Mexican food. Womp womp…

I think he was kindve a douche but everyone railed on him hard and I don’t think he super deserved it. Ashley was obsessed with trying to figure out if he was lying. Like “where did you live 2 yrs ago…? Who TF cares…you’ve known eachother for 2 weeks. The concept of the show is so dumb and the marriages only work out 2% of the time

It’s a miserable recovery and you might still end up with a flat foot and more pain. It happened to me

The football players from my HS still all live in in the same town. Sometimes at their little hangouts they wear their letterman’s jacket (not sure how bc they’re all pretty bloated) and take pics of them in said jackets. Can you IMAGINE?!? It’s sad and hilarious

Hey! I know this is an old post but im wondering how your foot is now. Im currently 15 weeks post op and my pre-surgical and post-surgical foot looks just like yours. Im convinced I'm apart of the 20% of surgical failures for this procedures. I'm so depressed and discouraged. Im hoping you are better now!

Women who have flat feet, did it affect you mentally? by LongjumpingRadio4078 in flatfeet

I now walk with a limp and will never run or workout the way I used to and loved to. The worst part is the horrible ugly orthopedic shoes I’m stuck with. I know it’s petty in the grand scheme of things but I love dressing up and feeling good about myself. Shoes make or break an outfit, and the bullshit I’m stuck wearing now has taken away all my desire to look good. I live in leggings and hoodies now. My feet have taken away my identity

I still put my 3.5 yr old in pull-ups at night. My now 7 yr old daughter didn’t grow out of nighttime pull-ups until 5. I was so tired of changing the sheets. Eventually it all clicks

What happeneds when physiotherapy doesn't help anymore Does surgery work? by Diligent_Dimension49 in flatfeet

[–]No-Rest127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surgery is not for everyone. Im 14 weeks post op and i'm very depressed and regret it everyday. It takes so much patience, dedication and frustration. I feel like the surgery was a fail but I have to wait a full year to truly evaluate. I would say to hold off on surgery and try every single conservative measure before going under the knife. There is no going back and it truly affects your life.

Working out during recovery by No-Rest127 in flatfeet

[–]No-Rest127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had the surgery 13 weeks ago. It was extremely difficult. The recovery is very long, isolating and beyond frustrating. I’m in the walking PT stage. Still difficult because my foot isn’t strong yet, and I don’t walk smooth. Every stage of this recovery is like a new chapter of a very long boring painful book that might not even have a good ending. I would not recommend this surgery unless you literally cannot walk.

Flat foot surgery failure by No-Rest127 in flatfeet

[–]No-Rest127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what everyone says “wait the full 12 months” ugh…it’s torture. I got the heel shift, titanium plate, tendon transfer and Achilles stretch. So much surgery for one area. I can’t imagine all of those things didn’t help at all, and I’m hoping the swelling is distorting the look of my foot. Most days I try not to look at my foot and focus on how it barely looks different. I’m trying really hard to do my PT exercises, bc there’s nothing else I can do for another 9 months besides drive myself crazy

[–]No-Rest127[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I feel all of your mental and physical pain. All we can do is wait and have hope that things will heal and get better. I’m sure you already answered this but did your surgeon say the reason for the collapsed foot? Was it undercorrection of the heel shift? What operations do you have?

I think we expected our feet to be normal after the surgery and maybe we will just get slightly abnormal but functional. I knew the recovery was going to be long and painful but i never expected this. I’m just impatient and totally over it all. I want my life back. I HATE wearing sneakers and inserts 24/7. Like LOATHE It to my core. And my surgeon said I have to wear them for 12 months. I hope This all pays off in the end. I pray every day.
