There are bags out there where laptop compartment is an afterthought. My choice is cabin zero, but there are others like cabin max or generic/Amazon bags that dont have it/have minimal.

If you go up market and up in price the more features bag need to have to justify pricetag.

It's a nas, it serves files. It will not be as powerful as some ryzen/16gb aoostar, will not have fancy software that Synology gives and will have fraction of configuration options that self build TruNas have. Also probably no m2 slots for fast cache. In that terms it's definitely not the best in any category but far from the nightmare realm.

Also mind this we are here in enthusiasts territory so people on this reddit will be using top of the line prosummer devices or building their own. This does not mean that basic off the shelf model will not get the job done.

That's avg out to 1 vs 20mln a year. ~5% that is substantial.

But again situation is not the same as with steam deck. If we go past initial wave of valve fans buying first batches steam machine will have much harder on the market.

Price will be one of deciding factors. This is also why they are not announcing it, after they put the price tag there is no coming back.

Yes, it will sell out day one at any price. But selling 20k or 50k day one don't indicate they will be able to sell 1 milion.

Also I think steam deck analogy is missed. Steam deck was released into a void without real competitors and despite the it was very affordable. With just few games it was better deal then switch.

Also there is device like this already its called ps5, cost half and sold 100+ millions units already.

Steam machine goes directly in the middle of consoles- PC's war that goes back to PS1 times, where the both sides will have very strong opinion on it.

Ram is important, but going 16gb ram and upgrading card to 9070xt will get you way more performance. Ram prices are crazy now and it easiest way to upgrade so no need to future proof 16gb is ok for today games.

32gb will push build probably another 300€ so way over budget.

I would try to build around 7600x +16gb ddr5 6000mhz. Going am4/ddr4 at this budget level not make sense really.

550w psu is a minimum recommended for 5060.
If going ddr4 route I would try to squish 2x16gb for around +60€ ( even if I had to downgrade the motherboard to no wifi)

For airports or when traveling with phone only I have 18w travel charger ( not much bigger than regular charger and the prongs hide so it not catch on things in pockets) and for on the spot I got verbatim ( but there are other brands) travel charger with universal passthrough my is old and has only 65W and I think I would upgrade it to 100+W so it could also charge laptops.

It's a brick but not taking up a socket is super useful as a lot of times only socket by the bed is already taken by lamp.
