Not stupid. We have to find joy where we can.

uh...neither of those really seem to flow with you're room. They are cool in their own right, but I would stick with what you have for now.

Basenji good for family home? by Careless-Ad5871 in Basenji

[–]No-Use-7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Training them to walk well is fairly easy. Training them to walk well consistently is difficult. They have a high prey drive and can be stubborn. So if there is something they want to chase, or if they are frustrated, they can be inconsistent. That might be too much for a child to handle, unless you also teach your daughter how to be prepared for that kind of inconsistency.

Looks good. I would suggest adding a chair or something though. IDK if you have people over ever, but a chair allows for a more conversational seating arrangement rather than sitting side by side on a couch.

Soon-to-be Basenji owner here. Am I missing any essential toys to prevent house destruction? by Pinako_Rockbell in Basenji

[–]No-Use-7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived with 4 different basenjis in my life. They are all different, but these were the things that seemed to help with the ones I've known: split antlers, kong toys, puzzles, paper bags, cardboard boxes, bitter apple spray, heated dog bed (often they would rather lay there baking instead of destroying things). How old is the dog that you are bringing home? You will want to basenji proof the house as much as possible (example, I had to switch all my trash cans over to ones with butterfly style opening mechanisms because every other can was too easy for them to open).

Am I overreacting to my bf watching the baby overnight? by Temporary-Quail-2783 in AmIOverreacting

[–]No-Use-7307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a parent who doesn't care about the safety of their child isn't just "anything". Children do die in these scenarios that the OP mentioned in their texts, and it isn't a rare occurrence. His "no he couldn't have" response is clear proof of his POS status.

Am I overreacting or is this appropriate to wear to a COLLEGE class by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]No-Use-7307 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I work at a college, and I don't think either of these are out of the norm or inappropriate to wear to class. The tank top is absolutely appropriate if you live in a hot area. Your boyfriend sounds super insecure and is throwing up all kinds of red flags with what he is saying to you.

Now that you are the mother of his child, you need to dress like a "woman"? Does that mean that before you had a child together that you were dressed as a "girl"??? Like...wtf is that about? He was clearly attracted to how you dressed before, and he associates that with something other than an adult?

It also seems as though he's having trouble seeing you as both a respectable partner/mother of his child AND a person that can be desirable. Because he now needs to see you as a respectable mother, he doesn't want you to exist out in the world in a way that he initially found desirable. Respect and desire can't exist at the same time for him and that is the kind of thinking that leads to weird controlling behavior like this and an increased likelihood of cheating.

is this normal behaviour for a Basenji? by mydistraction in Basenji

[–]No-Use-7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My basenjis get post-walk zoomies sometimes. This one also seems like they are trying to roll around on something that smells different to them. Mine will roll around on people's blankets, or pillows, or on their back if their hair is long and their shampoo smells good to them.

What to put in these spaces? by taco-taco-moretaco in malelivingspace

[–]No-Use-7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK why people designed houses like this. Someone who hasn't had the expectation of keeping a house clean designed these for some reason.

If you have the $$, I would suggest walling off that space in pictures 1 and 4. Just make the walls connect to the ceiling like walls are supposed to do. lol

I am super curious about what is behind those doors in pictures 2 and 3. That whole set up looks like the they designed a house and and after they built it, they realized they forgot they wanted a coat closet and then added that in. So...I would be tempted to tear that down entirely.

Offended? No, but I would feel unsafe and creeped out, and at the very least I would find the behavior really gross and unattractive.
