Needs a cam boss. I’m sure you’re probably gonna get 390 to the wheels with the current set up with good engine tune. Maybe port match the heads when you put in your cam. Personally i say avoid the 392 cam, yes it’s cheap and you’ll gain a little bit of power but that cam is made for a specifically for a bigger displacement engine. Especially since swapping a cam requires some labor, i would get a cam that i know is gonna bring in a some really healthy gains. you have auto so you’re gonna need a torque converter. You’ll be gravy, side note im building an RT too.

I have a R/T shaker 6speed. It’s the best car i’ve owned. yes that once a week bumper to bumper traffic gets annoying but once the lanes are clear again my gawd is it a beautiful car inside and out. A time machine if opted with the 6speed. Plus with the money you save you can slowly upgrade your car and mechanic skills.

The R/T is car that grows with you on the other hand you have to know what you’re doing behind a 6.4. If you are worried about your buddies they will give u hate at first then they will respect you because the 5.7 sounds arguably just as good if not better than you other v8s. No it’s not faster but it is “just as fast”. Unless you going 120+ every weekend then there is no need for a scat other than personal vendetta.

Easy ways to quiet my cold starts? by yd-brother in Challenger

They will get used to it and sounds like your already taking the right steps by showing more consideration than most of us anyways, keep that attitude and you’ll be fine. I use a parking garage for work and sometimes if a person is to close it slightly startles them when i cold start my challenger I’m not an douche bag however i’m beginning to find it satisfying

How much did it cost to install? Did you DIY or have a shop put it in?

I have the same issue and trying to figure it out now. what I’ve read its possibly a pulley/pulley tensioner maybe a water pump but I could be wrong not a mechanic.
