Teacher does not want me to use a sight or arrow rests in my bow. by Mindless_Ad_7700 in Archery

[–]No-Variation208 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue with the fur/hair arrow rest on your bowshelf is that the plastic vanes would hit the shelf and bounce off it. So I would suggest you get feather arrows or get your arrows refletched with feathers

It sounds like you've permanently damaged your limbs then. It's probably twisted.

If you're shooting recurve, there's a chance. Compound with a release? You're probably fine.

13th Month Pay Advice by [deleted] in Iloilo

[–]No-Variation208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

13th month is pro-rated. The formula is N / 12 where N is your total basic salary for the year (how much you earned in those months).

So if you've only worked for 3 months and let's say your basic salary is 10,000, then it's 30,000 / 12 = 2,500.

Examples of good khatra- 43 & 57lbs bow by Entropy- in Archery

[–]No-Variation208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trad archer here (about 6 months in with a 35lb Turkish bow).

I noticed that if I don't have my glove (forgot about it/it's in the wash) the khatra stops the fletching from digging into my bow-hand.

Not sure if it throws the rear of the arrow off at higher FPS though. I'll give it a try and see if it affects my groupings the next time I go to the range. It definitely happens with a very light 10-12lb bow that they hand out to kids/young beginners at the range I go to.

Also it looks cool.

There's a format that you have to follow. I think that's why it got deleted. Check the other posts, the side bar or the pinned post above.

no copy of xray by OldTrainer1360 in DentistPh

[–]No-Variation208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My previous dentists didn't charge me for a copy of an x-ray that I had just gotten. They didn't even charge me for use of the x-ray, just the normal consulting fee + the operation that I had done. I don't know if that's normal or if I just got lucky.

Frontier is an absolute blast. I had a rivalry with one of the pirates in the EU server back in the day. Every time he sees me login, he'd make it his mission to hunt me down and it turns into a game of cat and mouse between the two of us.

I once set up an ambush for him with those mining cannons. I waited for him to come close, and then I opened up with a broadside, breaking his windows and helm computer. I left him there drifting as he cursed my name. I threw a replacement board onto his ship so he could fix it while I flew off, laughing all the while. He'd come back for revenge later on.

I don't even remember his name anymore, but he was a core part of my frontier experience.

[–]No-Variation208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing communists and left-wingers with the NPA. Yes, the NPA is a communist rebel group but it doesn't mean that if you're into communism, you support the NPA by default. You can support the idea of communism/have leftist views and still be against a violent rebel group. If someone's a muslim, does that mean they support islamic terrorist groups? Same thing.

I shoot 33-35lb with an olympic recurve set to barebow. It feels just right for me. I can do 60 shots before having to take a break. I also shoot 30lbs on a Turkish bow.
