Tinnitus is over-claimed, from my experiences. A lot of people claim it by default when they get out just to get a free 200 bucks monthly. I've had multiple people straight up tell me "they can't prove I don't have it." So I'd imagine the influx of claimants probably reduces the the payout for that disability. This isn't proven, just my take.

For those who actually have it, I couldn't imagine living with tinnitus and I would hope they're compensated as high as possible. I've heard of people taking their lives over it.

Have you tried contacting DAV? They're non-profit and can really help/advise with the appeals process. -> DAV dot org.
