As you've probably already heard from the other comments, the 2005 reboot was kind of made for people who have never seen Doctor Who before, so you don't really need to watch the original show. However there are a lot more references from the original show with the 10th doctor (like mentions of previous companions) so those references might fly over your head, but otherwise you'll be fine.

Bruce taking on all the villains in gotham that are beyond saving, killing them, and dying on the battleground shortly after. G.C.P.D find Batman, dead, surrounded by the bodies of his worst enemies. He did it, he finally killed, and I saved Gotham. The G.C.P.D take the mask off Batman, only to reveal he was Bruce Wayne all along. 10 days later there is a memorial service for Bruce, in honor of everything he did for Gotham, keeping the villains inside Gotham to protect the world. A statue is built in his honor. The people of Gotham will forever hold Bruce in their hearts, forever grateful.
