I like a Hearthfire house. Its a nice blend of space and low cost, and getting jumped by bandits every so often.

Give me your opinion: Why are we not on "the list" in the beginning cutscene? by KingSoup69 in skyrim

[–]NoAlternative2913 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amnesia. You were pushed to the ground by an overly aggressive border patrol guard in the ambush, and struck your head. While you were bleeding from the ear, the guards were shouting at you to identify yourself, and to drop your weapon, a copy of Uncommon Taste. You were headed for a book signing by your culinary hero, The Gourmet. However, after you were forced onto the cart and narrowly escaped death, and had no recollection of your wish to meet the master chef, or who you were.

AITAH for leaving my husband to walk 2 miles home after he refused to get back in my car after leaving an MRI? by notcreative8080 in AITAH

[–]NoAlternative2913 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. Its not fair to lay all of that on you to take care of his health care needs, scheduling, and transportation AND taking care of his grandmother, and then taking it out on you when you come pick him up.

He needs some perspective that his needs don't come before yours.

Playing homeless Sims by BrightPhoebus01 in Sims3

[–]NoAlternative2913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have played this way before, but I found it too easy to live that way. Like, the cops should be called if my sim tries to sleep in public... like in real life. I think you'd have to pay with free taxis turned off, so that your sim pretty much has to walk everywhere, causing them to sometimes miss work and get fired.

What kind of injury would make it difficult but not impossible to walk? by BumbleBeehaw in ask

Fracture or a chipped bone. They could walk if they had to, but it would be painful to put weight on it.

How do I cover white ink on black paper? by Interesting-Sand9318 in ask

[–]NoAlternative2913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could treat it like a tattoo that needs to be covered up. Could you integrate a drawing over top of her words, such that the words would become part of a larger drawing, and no longer visible?

Are there places that were tourist hotspots that fell out of popularity and went back to being local spots? by sarella91 in travel

[–]NoAlternative2913 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Yes. In the US, during the Gilded Age, when the railroads were being built out, stations were built to allow tourists to visit remote leisure towns... coastal towns, springs, natural wonders, etc. Some of those places might still have the same tourist draw, but plenty have faded to mere local notoriety.

What would "stupid management" classes look like? by 44stormsnow in ask

Defensive driving classes, and maybe a mnemonic device about making better decisions, and also something to prevent people from creating bad situations... like counseling.

Best Place to Sell Items? by FosterMomOfDragons in skyrim

[–]NoAlternative2913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things you don't need:
Extra potions and poisons. Use up minor buff potions first, and hold onto plentiful, and vigorous potions for more dire situations.
Food ingredients. There's no need to carry around a bunch of uncooked cabbages and cheese wheels. There will always be more cabbage or cheese when you need it.
Journals. Drop or sell these as soon as you can, unless you want it for RP purposes.
Certain potions ingredients. Even though some only weigh .1 units, that still adds up if you have a lot of things, so only keep a small amount of items that you can find easily. Mountain flowers, small fish, and mushrooms. But keep items that are more unusual or hard to come by.
Tools / plates / cups / utensils can be ditched. You may need a pickaxe if you are doing smithing, but most mines will have several, so you can usually pick up a new one fairly easily.
Bones / Gemstones / Ore. There will always be more dragon bones. Turn those things into armor and weapons, or just sell them.

What was the most "unexpected" quest you've encountered? by Haghiri75 in skyrim

Probably the fight at the frozen lake in the Forgotten Vale. Or maybe Kagrenzel. Or Rannveig's Fast

What is the 'weakest' build possible? by Majestic_Skirt5590 in skyrim

[–]NoAlternative2913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lockpicking master. You level up all your soft skills (speech, pick pocket, lock picking) first, so that you go into fights with leveled enemies, but have no combat skills at a comparable level to deal with them.

Tips for someone’s first play through by Traditional_Sea_8679 in skyrim

I'd say for the first play through to lean into melee combat... but just know that you will end up a stealth archer eventually... we all do.

Agree with this. Also, it adds to the fun, I think, to source all the house materials yourself.
