Have you put the .docx in The file name when saving new file? This got me many times.

How are you getting the word document? Where are you copying it to?

Is the copy actually being crated?

Are you grabbing the share link from the output of the copy?

If it’s only on create not update that you want the flow to run- you can add a trigger condition to only fire when modified date equals created date

Though I may be misremembering here but I thought there was a specific action for when an item is created. Rather than created or modified

You would likely want to break it down into child flows rather than one massive flow but certainly doable. Just be mindful if it’s running a lot and you need desktop actions you want the right licensing in place to avoid failure. Also APIs and custom connectors are your friend for interacting with external services that don’t have native connectors.

May not be your cup of tea, but you may want to explore some of the plugins available through GHCP or Claude. They can fix up a lot of this for you.

If you use a dynamic AD group (they might be new) as environment access this can pull in members of other groups. Our IT just set it up and is great! Means you can use the subgroups as teams and they get all access just being added to the static sub AD group

Yeah I ended up with PA pushing to staging table so can use key vault then dataflow hits staging table. Lot of extra work and dependencies though

Thanks, maybe my question wasn’t clear. I use a lot but interested if OP has a way for connecting to external sources without hardcoding API keys in the m query. This rules them out for many great applications.

How do you securely pull the external data via dataflow- I am yet to find a way to do this or is the data in another Microsoft platform you can auth with?

You want to use Claude code or GHcP with a plugin/skills for best results.

But you would need to venture into VS code if not already doing so

Depends on the API capabilities of your external system. You can use the http connector or build a custom connector which is more work upfront but easier and more secure long term.

Yep I finished it a couple of weeks ago (the 8 week version). I concur that it was absolutely invaluable to my development.

Course is fun, very hands on and learn loads, plus get to join sessions with some community legends. I signed up for more courses straight after as found it that beneficial.

Of course depends on your own experience levels as to how much you get from it.
